Skylodge Resort

The property is up on a tall hill. Which at first I thought was going to be cool. But its a pain in the ass getting up the hill. You will have to rent one of the property scooters to get around. I was here in August and it seemed like there was only 5 to 10 guests staying here. Perhaps it gets better in the high season. Therr are large rats everywhere in Coron. You will certainly see them at Skylodge.

This property reminded me of the hotel in that movie. "The Shining", it was probably a happening place back in the day, but now has lost some of its attraction. Every property in the Philippines has this lip / edge at the threshold door to the bathroom. Great place to stub your toe. There is a huge hill that the skylodge is situated on. The driveway snakes up towards it. If you have to walk it, you'll be sweating by the time you get to the top.

Arrived late at night and place was overbooked. Manager was kind enough to let us stay, but we have to pay the hotel again, which was promised to be refunded. We did get the refund after two weeks. The room was nice but the door did not close well causing loud noise when door is closed. Management never fixed it, despite putting our request to fix it. The entrance is too crowded, noisy with lots of people milling around, Won’t be back to this place,

Close to everything and the port for all island tours. Nice place for budget travel

I've always wanted to dive on shipwrecks, and Coron seemed a good place to do so. We chose this hotel as it has an attached dive shop in the building and make things easy. The dives were easy to book while there, and a hotel van takes divers from reception right down to the boat and off for the day. We had two dive days, one was on 3 shipwrecks, and the other day reefs and barracuda lake. In addition a couple of rest days too. The hotel itself has very friendly staff, and a generous breakfast with different cuisines available. The rooms were fine for all that we needed, including a hot shower, and a minibar with the same prices as the main bar. Evening meals were also available in the restaurant with an extensive menu. The hotel also has a diveshop and coffee shop in town called Mary Chillet, which is a relaxed european style cafe. Altogether a very pleasant stay, lifted out of town for clear air and view, but with a free van shuttle for easy access

We were so grateful with our stay in Skylodge Resort Coron. Especially with their front desk staff Grace. She was so helpful and nice to us. She went beyond and above with the service she’s given us. She is very hospitable towards us. There’s a free shuttle service as well. The view is nice from the top, although it would’ve been nicer if we’ve stayed in the 3rd and 4th floor to see the view much better. All of the other staff are so nice, easy to approach and always smiling. The hotel is a little bit old so the rooms are not that modern but it’s clean. My kids loved it because of the bunk bed and they said it feels like home. Will definitely recommend this place

Clean rooms, friendly staff and a mini bar

It was a nice place to stay. Abit out of the way but the team drop you into town whenever requested for free and pick you up. Really nice team, and the food was good. I would stay there again. Thank you. I even extended my stay by a night or two. Only issue was a hole near the aircon unit. I slept at the other end of the bed incase anything climbed in lol

The stay at the Skylodge started with the airport transfer which cost P250 for a seat in a van. Everything went smoothly. I had booked a budget double room and it was as such but I was surprised to have a whole in the wall air -conditioning unit therefore, I am unable to sleep with it on as they are noisy. I did leave the air con on and then I would turn off the unit and turn on the ceiling fan. This was a good way of sleeping comfortably. I was on the middle floor of the hotel however it was some walk to the reception which was annoying because the room phone did not work. The resort has a gym however does not have a treadmill; there was a small amount of weights. I would have struggled to workout in this gym as there was no air-con and it was like a greenhouse because there was a big window overlooking the hill. The resort is at the top of a steep hill; it is walkable however there is a shuttle which takes you to the town and picks up from there. There is a timetable however, you can message the hotel via their mobile number and they would send the van. There is a dive shop attached to the hotel which offers scuba diving activities such as fun dives and PADI course. My diving session did not start well because I did not make the start of the dive session due to a communication error. The dive shop manager (Julian) tried everything to rectify the problem. Julian really did save the day!

Very short two nights. Wish there was more time. Our first full day was full since the next day we leave very early. Got in noontime on first day and went hiking the step up Mt Tapyas. Second day took the excursion lagoon hopping til 5pm. Went to salty Hot Spring resort until 8. Nice very nice….

My epic holiday starts here. They have a wonderful hotel ,staff are the finest. Transport so reliable. Amenities I will say it's first class. Cafe and restaurant par excellence esp.with the best performer of live music. It's an unforgettable experience in Coron and it starts here in Skylodge.

Ok Hotel. Det var en del maur på rommet. Ikke komfortabel seng. Og litt for trangt rom. Vanskelig å finne plass til bagasjen vår. Fin utsikt og god mat i restauranten

This hotel is absolutely great and the views are beautiful. Beware that to get up to the hotel you have to go up a big steep hill (which some of the tricycle/tuktuks can’t get up properly - although they will get you most of the way there). The rooms are a good size, they’re clean, there’s hot water in the bathrooms and the aircon works really well. The WiFi is also consistent and didn’t cut out at all. There are laundry facilities if you need them - although it’s pricier than doing it yourself or taking it to a local business, we didn’t mind because it was done within 24 hours and all of our stuff came back to us folded and smelling great.

The staff were really helpful and informative regarding the day trips available and organising the ferry trip back to El Nido - they’ll also drop you off at the port. You will be charged a slightly higher fee when booking the day trips/ferry through the hotel as they take a commission but it’s not a huge fee and is very convenient.

The restaurant at the hotel had delicious food. The breakfast was included with the stay and was decent. We had lunch at the restaurant too and we were really happy with it. The pancit noodles were delicious.

It was up on the hill, good view, and very quiet. Lot of steps up and down.

Exceptional service, beautiful location, the best service I encounter in any hotel. The friendliness of the staff makes you feel at home. Ten to fifteen minutes of walk to the town center. Thirty pesos by tuk tuk. Evening entertainment was pleasant and not challenging. I can’t emphasize enough the attentiveness of the personel. Nice pool and beautiful view from most of the rooms. I strongly recommend staying in Skylodge hotel on Coron.

The hotel is located at the top of a hill in town, so this can be an inconvenience if you have mobility issues. However, the hotel provides a free shuttle to town (only a 10-minute walk). The hotel needs updating but is adequate for a couple of nights. Wifi quality was good and the rooms had a safe box. Rooms are small and simple but the view of the area from the hotel was gorgeous and the buffet breakfast was delicious. The pool is not well maintained.

excellent hospitality. Good food. Very friendly and welcoming staff. They provided us with a lot of option for vegetarian food. Very personalised touch. Spa was good. The outdoor activities are excellent. Mr. Jerrard took good care of us. Ms. Grace took care of our reservations.

Had a fantastic stay here! Very affordable, clean rooms, good amenities, and staff here were very friendly and accommodating. They’re also great with helping you book different tours for island hopping in case there are any that you didn’t book in advance prior to flying to Coron. Though the location is further uphill and a tad farther from the town proper, it’s quiet and peaceful. The free shuttle service that’s provided makes it convenient for guests to get to the town proper and back. There’s also a free breakfast buffet, which were delicious and there was a good mix of western and Filipino food options. A lovely bonus as well to enjoy this every morning by the terrace and magnificent views. Only thing is the wifi can lose signal at times, but honestly didn’t bother me too much and shouldn’t be an issue if you have data. Would definitely stay here again, and already recommended this place to all my friends who are looking to visit Coron soon.

I enjoyed my stay here. Booked a budget room. Will stay again and recommend this to family and friends. It was a relaxing stay indeed. Would stay longer if you just want to relax. Good for a budget traveller.

PROS:
- Budget room is good for 2 adults and 1 kid (2 yrs old below) can stay
- Lovely view of the bay and Mt. Tapyas
- Free buffet breakfast starts from 6.30a-9a
- Free shuttle service runs until 11p
- Helpful staff
- Staff offers daily cleaning of the room
- Clean room and powerful ac, sheets smell fresh
- The sound of nature is just relaxing, birds chirping and the sound of trees swaying. Its like nature is speaking to you.

THINGS TO CONSIDER
- The hotel is situated on a mountain side which means a lot of stairs to get around the hotel and hilly alleys if you want to go to town or nearby establishments.
- Strong smell of chlorine in the pool
- There is 5 percent SC for every purchase or consumed during the stay.
- Top floor is not open during our stay, unsure the reason why but the view from the top is just immaculate.
- Expensive motor rental: 500 php for 6 hours
- Food served at the restaurant are average but pricey

Excellent dive master, new equipment and nice boat and crew. We had a good day diving with Skylodge and a wonderful meal. Would have gone again but a misunderstanding with the office staff left us high and dry and sadly we didn't get to dive.
