Prima hotel, met een aantal aandachtspuntjes.
Pros:

We only had one night, and it was suitable for that.
Pros:

Lovely building with lots of history, and the old part is interesting to wander around. Room was nice, clean and quiet with a lovely outlook.

Cons:

I think they cater for more passing trade than long term stays. Therefore the food options appears to be a bit 'get it done and finished with' rather than stay and enjoy the experience. We chose to eat in the village...but that was possibly worse!

Superflott parador/hotell
Pros:

Beautiful hotel, but disappointing hospitality at checkout affected my overall experience
Pros:

I stayed here at the end of August. The room was elegant, and the property was beautiful. There was sense of tranquility in the entire property with Gregorian chants in the background in the reception area. It was a peaceful place to unwind after a long day walking the Camino.

Cons:

Unfortunately, the hospitality seemed a little cold, especially at checkout (at 730am). The older man at reception barely acknowledged me, avoided eye contact. I had a suitcase that I was leaving behind for the luggage transfer service to pick up. When asked if I could leave it at reception, he led me to the storage room and made me put it there myself, which seemed odd since every other hotel handled that for me. For a 4-star place, this felt a bit cold and impersonal and also dismissive.
I might not have thought much about it if the man had a more pleasant demeanor, especially so early in the morning. Management should reflect seriously on how guests are being treated, and whether all staff are upholding the level of professionalism and respect that’s expected at a 4-star hotel.
