The hotel is really well located between the beauty of the Northumberland coast and the outstanding borders countryside. There is no check in desk at the hotel which was slightly confusing on arrival. Our stay on the whole was great and we enjoyed the really homely ambience of the hotel. We were in the deluxe double room which was gorgeous. The manager of the hotel was really helpful and the waitress called Hazel went above and beyond to make us feel extra special.
My parents were in the downstairs room which was a bit cold and the hotel had to provide blow heaters.
Clean, good food and great location(for fishermen)
Nothing
Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice. Very friendly staff. Hotel very dog friendly with lovely well maintained grounds.
Minor issue but problem with the front door key not working so we were locked out after 11 pm when walking the dog. Managed to speak to the manager? of attached property who gave us access.
Lovely rooms, spacious and very comfortable bed. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Excellent food.
Very warm in the rooms
Super property characterful and homely. Bedrooms were very well decorated and the food was excellent
A little pricey for the stay and had breakfast included. Maybe offer an option without breakfast.
When we arrived and were checking out there is no clear reception or instruction where to go. We were greeted quickly by a friendly member of staff. Checking out we struggled to find where to go.
Fab food and location
The breakfast was good, with fresh fruit, Greek yogurt and a choice of cooked food
The carpets looked tired and needed replacing, the rooms at the front suffer from noise at night from people leaving the restaurant and the nearby road
Food excellent as ever though missed the Scallops on the menu which has always been a highlight
Service could have a been a bit quicker and more attentive, particularly at breakfast
Good breakfast and evening meal. Lovely room overlooking the garden. Very convenient for sightseeing in the local area. Friendly, helpful staff. Local shop next door for all basic necessities.
No fridge in the room.
Lovely hotel & setting, gardens were perfect, Bed was comfortable, Bathroom was great, View from room was lovely, Great breakfast cooked to order was delicious & freshly brewed coffee was an added bonus
Hotel evening meal menu was expensive, Looked amazing but I was travelling for work & the menu choice is set, So I opted for a takeaway in Coldstream Instead
Food at the Collingwood Arms is delicious. Rooms are comfortable and garden is lovely to spend time in.
excellent food at dinner and breakfast, excellent staff.
room spotlessly clean, but carpet marked (which detracted from overall effect)
I liked the old timey look about the place to dinning room to the exterior and the rooms were perfect very big
It was all perfect
