I came across a lot of fake reviews when I was looking for a place to stay in Arugam but this one is completely genuine! The staff working there were really nice and welcoming, they were available for anything we needed. The hostel itself was quiet, the room was nice and spacious, everything worked as it should, the air conditioning, the hot water. We did encounter one cockroach during our stay even though they sprayed the room when we arrived but luckily you can seal both the sink and the drain and that solved the problem for us.

We felt very comfortable! The staff were
super nice and friendly. We were warmly
welcomed and all questions/requests
were immediately helped. The complex is located on
a small side street and therefore it is very
quiet at night. Nevertheless, it is only a 3
minute walk to the center of Arugam Bay
and only 5-10 minutes to the beach
(depending on where exactly you want to
be in the bay on the beach). The bed with
mosquito net was large and very cozy.
Also the rest of the room/bathroom was
absolutely sufficient and everything
(shower, AC etc.) worked well. Thanks for
the wonderful time at your place, we
would come back:)

All of arugam bay is expensive. this place was run down and very basic for a high cost.
it would be good if they set some standards as it was quite messy in the sharing space/kitchen. Stuff left everywhere, uncleaned and ciggie butts.
A.Bay was pretty booked out when we went and this was all that was left.
rooms are basic, beds are hard, smells damp.
Location is just a 2 minute walk from the main street.

The accommodation is well-located, close to the main road and the beach. The staff were very friendly and ready to help with any requests. The bed was comfortable, and there was hot water available. Although the A/C was not functioning 1 afternoon due to an electrical issue, they provided a small discount as compensation.
Unfortunately, the room's condition was far from ideal. I have visited many developing countries, and nowhere have I encountered accommodation in such poor condition. Even without comparing it to European standards, the room we stayed here needs significant improvements. (It was a different room than most pictures here.)
The room was quite dark, with only a small window that needed to be constantly covered by a curtain to prevent anyone from seeing inside from the courtyard. The relatively small room had a black floor, which did not create a good atmosphere and the plaster was peeling from the walls. Instead of proper bedside lamps, there was a harsh bright bulb on one side, while the other side had an equally strong green-tinted bulb, both were unpleasantly intense. There were no bedside tables, nor was there any wardrobe or shelf in the entire room. The bathroom walls were moldy, and there was a persistent, disgusting strong urine odor, with the ventilation not functioning! Several of the ceiling lights were burnt out. The entrance door could not be opened properly as it stuck to the floor and made a loud creaking noise. The ceiling fan was covered in thick rust and dust, so I didn't dare to turn it on, even when the A/C broke down.
Location is pretty good. Aircon worked well. Large rooms.
Very noisy. People partying and drinking to 2-4am. Then cleaners clean up after them at 630-7am. Didn't get alot of sleep. Also the rooms are a little budget. Not worth what you have to pay.
Room was spacious and zircon worked well. Staff very helpful and friendly and the location is prime as you are just 20m off the main road and walking distance from the surf spot at the point.
