Location was great. The building itself is nicely decorated and has areas to sit in and take in the view.
Their advertising works but sadly the experience doesn’t match what they promote.
I liked the pool are, very nice.
Food, my wife had a chicken burger, and it came out red/pink in the middle undercooked. Which was very troubling because my wife is pregnant this of course worried us as she had already eaten some of the burger before realising.
Breakfast was included and was fine. Room was okay but signs of age & wear. Staff were helpful & pleasant. Ate in the main restaurant on the 2nd night which was enjoyable but a bit expensive. Waiting staff were excellent though & very attentive. Pool was okay but see below. Also, we left some clothing in our room when we left. Sarah from customer services rang us but we were an hour away by then so she arranged for the items to be mailed to us which was good of her.
On the first night we tried the Brassiere which was poor. Very slow service & the food was expensive for what was made available. Had to ask 3 times for the desert menu before we got it . Portions were generally small for the price. Ate in the main restaurant the following night which was more enjoyable but again, quite expensive for the portions. Spent time in the pool but its clear that some parents don't observe the times when the children are allowed in. Some of us just wanted to wind down with a quiet swim so went in at a time when children were not allowed but there several children present well after the allocated time and all taking up a bed each at the pool side which meant that there were none available. Also parents taking mobile phone photos, possibly video in the pool area which puts the hotel in a vulnerable position generally if the photos / footage were uploaded onto social media & included children whose parents had not consented & also adults. Suggest the hotel allocate a supervisor in the pool area in future. One real annoyance was the lack of disabled parking as I have mobility issues. On our first night I had to park right down the far end of the car park which meant an uncomfortable walk back.
Location and outlook excellent. Breakfast fantastic. Bed very comfortable.
Tv in room dated. Stairs to room 404 very tiring to get to especially when carrying luggage. Light from stairwell top brighy overnight and light could be seen under door which then could be seen in the room overnight. Movement sensor to activate this light would sort problem
Lovely big room and comfortable bed. Staff were great and breakfast was delicious. Use of the pool and sauna was lovely also.
There wasn’t enough good gluten free options. They should have had gluten free granola and gluten free homemade bread. Freshly squeezed orange juice would be better and cafetières of fresh coffee

From check-in to checkout excellent hospitality, helpful staff, always courteous with a smile. Well maintained gardens of flower beds and mature oak trees, with views of Windermere and to wander down to lakeshore. Swimming in their 17m pool with views of Fellfoot, sauna & steam room added to our luxury overnight stay. Superb menu choice for breakfast, providing different areas for eating- we chose the conservatory for quietness, natural light and views to Windermere. Well maintained rooms. A most wonderful & memorable stay- Thankyou to the well trained staff team. Rosemary& Andrew H. N.Cumbria.
We found our room (2nd floor) too warm in the night, but managed to open the bottom window. Didn't like the changing colours of lights in the bathroom.
Plenty of places to relax and enjoy. Perfect scenery, with a nice pool.
Sauna & steam room could do with better lighting. It looked closed.
Such a lovely location. Lovely staff. Super breakfast.
All great!
Fabulous lakeside location
Main restaurant wasn’t open in the evening
