Gorgeous Priperty and Location. Indoor Pool was a bit tired feeling.

We were a little disappointed by the Lakeside Hotel. We felt that there was a lack of warmth and friendliness from some of the staff, and no real interest in ensuring we had a good stay. The initial check in was quite cold and business-like, and throughout our stay many staff dealt with us in quite a disinterested way. There was a fire alarm which woke us up one night. Having rushed outside, we weren't given any explanation or reassurance, and were just told it was ok to come back in. When we checked out, we werent asked how our stay was, we were just told there were no charges. There were some exceptions, but overall throughout our stay we felt the service lacked warmth.

We also weren't impressed by the food. At breakfast on one day, our food was both overcooked and cold by the time it reached us, which was about 30 minutes after we'd put in our orders. In fairness it was much better the next day when we went at a quieter time, but I would expect the quality of the food to be consistent (particularly given the cost) even if it takes a bit longer when it's busy.

The positive was the bed which was really comfy. It's a shame as the hotel is in a beautiful locaton, but I feel that there is a waste of the potential for this to be a place we'd want to return to.

No housekeeping service done despite 4 follow ups and two visits to front desk. No water replenishment, towels, tea or milk despite booking and paying for a suite. No one picked up housekeeping phone. The hotel manager was distinguished by his absence. Complete apathy.

Lakeside is always a pleasurable stay. Warm and inviting staff. Great food and the spa ideas relaxing...

Great pool area with changing room being refurbished as we were there. Friendly helpful staff. Great location and food. Love the breakfast options like smoked salmon and haddock.

Lovely room and stunning views, very clean, ev car charging really useful, good food, most of the staff really helpful. A really enjoyable stay, but some areas need attention..we had a non working fridge, which was replaced and no longer fitted into the cupboard, so it was left alongside and was very noisy whilst trying to sleep, which we had to unplug. We did mention this at reception, but it was still there when we left. Shower spray not working, reported, but not fixed. Some parts of the property need maintenance and a mix up on the settling up of the bill when we left.

Overall we had a excellent time.

All staff very friendly,attentive and helpful.

Food was excellent in the restraunt in the evening, as was breakfast... with lots of variety, and quality of food was of a very high standard.

We had a family room which was lovely and clean and very spacious & comfortable.

Only negative id say is that the room is probably due an upgrade as the bathroom was starting to look a little tired.

Id definitely recommend and we will certainly stay again.

We enjoyed a weekend stay in a lake view room last weekend. We arrived early and was provided with a car parking permit to allow us to then explore the area before checking in. Our room was excellent. It was large, warm and the bathroom had underfloor heating. Once checked in, we explored the spa which was great. A small swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna and steam room were just what was needed on a relaxing weekend away. We had made reservations for the Ruskins restaurant in the hotel. The service and food was excellent and we really enjoyed our meal. Breakfast was also excellent. There was a buffet selection of pastries, fruit, cereal, yoghurts etc and we also ordered from the menu. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a relaxing weekend away.

Had a fabulous 5 days here. Staff were very attentive and professional at all times. Rooms clean and food, both breakfast and at dinner was extremely good. Only criticism was the wifi in the room we had which overlooked the lake was very very poor.

Clean room, poor mattress, tired decor (peeling paint, rust spots on bathroom radiator). Dinner disappointing, breakfast ok, serving staff need training. Good leisure facilities.

Breakfast not included, we’ve booked and stayed here with hotels.com several times and breakfast has always been included but this time the hotel or hotels.com changed their policy and it wasn’t included. Disappointing and embarrassing when we went down for our breakfast.

Everything from arrival to departure was as expected, and we were not disappointed. Couldn’t have been better and the staff made us feel very welcome. We would definitely stay again and recommend to friends.

A very nice hotel and room with aview. The Swimming pool and Sauna were good. We did not use the Gym which lacked some resistance equipment. On 2 days we had to call up to have the room sorted either a problem with the door label or having a schedule that did not match. We ran out of shower Gel (The container was opaque but must have been nearly empty when we arrived). There was a bath but no dispenser at bath level. The chairs and seat were too low for the table and dressing table. It would have been useful to have smaller (and cheaper) bar snacks or tapas in the evening as being rainy we mostly ate our main meal out at midday. Despite all these mainly management problems we did enjoy our stay and everyone was friendly and helpful.

Lovely that you are on the shores of the lake and have private access from the hotel grounds Lake view room had 2 windows giving 2 different views Thre only thing lacking in the room was some hooks to hang up wet coats etc.
