El matrimonio que lo lleva es muy agradable y el desayuno que preparan está bueno. La estancia fue un golpe de humildad. Todo muy rural!!. Tenía unas buenas vistas y céntrico.
La habitación era un poco pequeña
Má to atmosféru, jste ve středu historického města
Není možné dojet autem k hotelu.Je potřeba počítat s dochozí vzdálenosti cca 200m do prudkého kopce .
A very old building beautifully decorated with lots of antique quirky items. Lovely tiny terrace with a beautiful view of the river valley and bridge. Nasho our host was extremely helpful and breakfast was also delicious and fresh
A steep up hill cobbled pathway to reach the hotel entrance from the street and parking space. Quite difficult to haul a large heavy suitcase but don’t let that put you off. If you can - take a small overnight bag.
I love a place with this much personality, everything is unique and special. Beautiful views of the city. Amazing couple running the place! That garden patio is so special.
Part of the charm, just know the last 100m you have to carry your luggage because of the cobblestones.
Quirky tiny hotel. Lovely little balcony with amazing views. Rooms are dark because of the hotel design but beautiful with indoor trees in our room.
Comfortable beds. Air con. Fantastic breakfast and very friendly hosts. Pet tortoises on the balcony!
Not a criticism but to be aware this is not a modern hotel. Shower is on the wall over the sink and toilet.
Cannot park by the hotel. It is up a tiny cobble streets. About 100m from the area you can park. Limited communication about where to park and the location is not as on google maps, apple map or maps.me. So check with owner in advance.
We loved the owners! They were so kind and hospitable. They were very proud of their property as they should be! It is sooo old and unique. I think it was built around the 6th century. It was neat staying in a place that old. The staff helped us park our car. It was a big deal to have parking in this area. In the morning the wife made breakfast. It was so cute and good. Very positive experience.
The only issue I had was with people coming in and out of our area around our room to look at the view. The owner encourages people to come in and check it out, but it's kind of awkward because our room was right there. The curtains are not covering all of the windows so we did need to make sure nobody was roaming around while we were changing. I definitely think there should be "set times" for people to come in and look at the view so the people paying to stay don't feel uncomfortable. I would also say that you should drive to the castle. Do not walk. And especially don't take the path that was forged in the 500's, which was recommended by the owner who said it was a 10 minute climb. I took my dog and we both literally almost died of heat exhaustion. It was not good at all. They are very well meaning and very kind. Overall it was a very unique and one of a kind experience.
View and garden with tortoise.
First thing first about this accommodation: the hosts of Nasho Vruho are the most amazing and wonderful people. The owners are a local couple who have lived in Berat for many years. Nasho speaks several European languages and though his English is somewhat limited his ability to assist with anything you need and make you laugh is not. When we arrived for check in he also allowed us to choose our favorite room on the property within our room tier as we were the first guests to check in for the day. His wonderful wife is the chef of the absolutely excellent Albanian style breakfast included with the stay. When she saw how much I enjoyed her breakfast cake she even wrapped us up two extra slices to take on our way before we left for the day. They were such kind and excellent hosts who truly want their guests to have the best stay.
The guesthouse itself is a beautifully restored old home within Berat's historic stone old town. Each room is a little different and has its own lovely quirk about it too. We choose to stay in a room the reminded us of a castle tree house with large windows overlooking stunning views of the trees planted in the garden and the river beyond. It also had live trees growing within the room and exiting out the ceiling. As a little note, while we would consider this as expected with live plants growing through a building and do not consider it a negative, there were a few ants in our chosen room. Something to consider if you would dislike this. There are several rooms without plants. Also, bathroom is a wet bath - just an FYI.
Parking is listed as available with hotel but is a little complicated as the area is historic and built for walking only. Nasho the owner is amazing and does offer to assist with parking your car in his designated area. For us the trouble was that there is a fairly good sized curb you have to drive up onto because the parking is on top of a large sidewalk and we had rented a low clearance sedan style car. Other similar cars were parked in the area, but we were nervous about potential damage to the rental. Instead we solved the parking issue by driving by to drop off our bags then parking about a five minute walk away in a standard paid parking lot which cost 5 euros for 24 hours. An easy fix. We do not consider this an issue with the accommodation but want to make note of it for other travelers. I would still recommend this place 1000 times over to anyone and just note there are at least two different options for how you can park if you have a car.
What a beautiful place and family! The family are incredibly welcoming and warm and made us feel at home right away. The house is located in middle of the ancient town, so the views from the balcony were exceptional and can be enjoyed with the two tortoises that are wandering around. The traditional breakfast was delicious and different every day. We couldn’t fault it.
Nothing - we loved it
The hosts are very kind snd hospitable. Location is right in the middle of old town with a million dollar view from the courtyard's balcony.
The amount and location of power sockets could be improved. The room is quite bare, a kettle would be nice.
An unforgettable experience on one of the most beautiful settings in all of berat. Beautiful place, full of charm, character and history. We will remember fondly our time here for many years.
Hotel Nasho Vruho was really special!! It had so much character in the heart of old town!! The views from our patio were gorgeous and the owners were so lovely! The breakfast was extremely generous and delicious! Cooked fresh each morning by the host!! We loved our stay ❤️
The host was a fine example of the perfect host. The bed was so comfortable, the views should have been an extra, and the breakfast was great! The host gave us parking also. The location in itself was perfect for everything in Berat whether we wanted the centre, or the castle. But be prepared to carry luggage for a short walk up hill.
