The hotel staff was incredibly welcoming and professional. They went above and beyond to assist us with any inquiries we had. Elif, in particular, was a lifesaver. Not only did they help us with our questions, but they also provided us with valuable information about the city and recommended places to visit.

I am writing this review off the back of spending 3 fabulous sun soaked weeks in Northern Cyprus after many years spent away from our homeland!

As you can expect, we were extremely nervous prior to our holiday, at picking the right hotel within which to make the most of our time in paradise! With a plethora of choices now available to tourists and holiday makers alike, we picked Lords Palace, and I can say it was an absolutely magnificent decision for so many reasons that I am about to delve into!

Firstly, the hotel is perfectly located, within excellent proximity to the Girne/Kyrenia town centre, but just out the way to avoid busy passing traffic or bustling crowds! It’s also well positioned to take advantage of the connecting roads to Lefkoşa/Nicosia and also towards Bafra, İskele and Mağusa/Famagusta!

Our first night, we arrived about 1am due to flight delays, but the reception was still staffed well and we were able to check into our rooms without further delay! Now we did have a slight problem to begin with, namely, we had asked to be in rooms either next to other or on the same floor, but due to the hotel being at full capacity, we had rooms on different floors! We put this to the staff member Ercan at the time of checking in and he reassured us that there would be checkouts happening the following morning and that they would reassign us straight away to meet with our initial request! And lo and behold, the following day, by early afternoon and with the assistance of manager Caner, we were assigned two rooms on the 6th floor! This was our first experience of the level of customer service that this hotel offered, the unwavering commitment to ensure they do whatever they can to make you, their guest happy!

Now to the rooms, they are not the largest guest rooms by any comparison but provide plenty of room for 2 adult guests with plenty of storage for your clothes, a king size bed that was so comfortable, a bathroom with a fantastic shower (so powerful and refreshing) and a unique feature called “Cineglass” dividing it from the rest of the room! This can be turned on or off with a switch and provides you with privacy when showering or using the toilet and then enabling light to flood the bathroom when, for example, you are using the mirror to get ready!

Coupled with other nice touches, a tv with many channels, a digital “Do not disturb/Please make my room” system, a fairly large desk space to work from, check emails or to just sit and get ready for ladies! The room was ideal for what we needed!

We then move over to the main restaurant, called Spice, where we were to spend every morning for breakfast and most evenings for dinner as we were on the Half-Board package and I can say that the offerings were quite simply amazing! Every morning, you had an incredible selection of different breads, rolls, cheeses, yoghurt, jams, traditional “macuns”, fruit and a bountiful selection of cooked offerings from eggs, potato’s, pancakes, menemen, Turkish traditional offerings like pides and gözleme and a central station which would make specialist items like Toasted sandwiches, filled croissants, avocado or salmon toast etc … you also had simit, a vast selection of cereals and fresh juice and milk! As well as tea and coffee and water served at your table by your waiter!

For dinner, the restaurant operates a rotational themed offering each night, from Italian to Lebanese, Chinese to Turkish and even a Sunday roast! Each night you would have freshly prepared food to choose from paired with fresh salads, sauces, breads and the best selection of desserts I’ve seen anywhere I have been around the world! I can spend the whole review talking about the food but I can quite simply say it was all delicious abd tantalising .., you won’t be disappointed!

Then we move on to the paid restaurants outside of the board system! We tried the two main restaurants in Kömür, a fabulous Turkish kebab restaurant with both a set menu filled with mezes and perfectly cooked meats or an a la carte menu giving you the freedom to enjoy your favourite kebabs or even steaks! Kömür was a wonderful experience from start to finish! The other restaurant was Khephal, a fish restaurant! Again this operated on a set menu based service with mezes catered towards the fish main courses containing both Hot and cold starters and a wide range of fish from prawns to calamari and octopus and ending with your choice of fish from sea bass to salmon, we went with the rock sea bass and it was incredible!

Both restaurants served the same desserts with Oven Baked Helva and the star of the show, Katmer, a wonderful flaky pastry filled with pistachio and kaymak/cream and syrup both served hot and with ice cream! So so good!

The final part of the hotel to review are the activities and once again lords palace excels here! They have a fabulous pool area central to the complex with many restaurants/bars and even shops dotted around and then two areas to enter the sea with a vast deck area with steps into the sea and another sandy beach area together with 3 areas for beach beds and a large bar/restaurant! We preferred the beach area and spent most mornings or afternoons there! Very peaceful but still lively enough for kids and families alike! And to avoid having to walk in the heat to these areas, they have a dedicated golf buggy service that runs continuously throughout the day!

This concludes the pros part of the hotel review, so in the interests of fairness, I will now set out the flaws of the hotel, or the negatives that we noticed, shall we say:

1. As briefly mentioned above, most of the rooms are standard with the only other option being family style rooms! The standard rooms are small so only fit 2 people and are not suitable for families! So if you are bringing the kids you will need to make sure you book a family room or if none available, you may have to book two rooms! We are a family of three adults so we needed two standard rooms!
2. The hotel allows smoking in all rooms, something that we did point out as being a huge flaw to the management … HOWEVER, they do provide a very effective solution to remove any lingering smell by providing an “ozone” machine! My room personally did not require this however my parents used it on the first night and it eradicated all the bad odours immediately!
3. There was a shortage of towels throughout our stay, but we were reliably informed that this was down to a supply chain issue and it would be rectified ASAP! We would have preferred to have face/hair towels to compliment our stay but we had to make do with Bath Towels and hand towels throughout … although housekeeping were so good and so efficient that they were very quick to replenish our used towels every day!

All of the above do need to be addressed by the management to make guests’ stay even better, however, the positives were so many that these really can be pushed to one side! Which brings me to the Overwhelming Positive aspect of Lords Palace, and that is The Impeccable and Incredible team of Staff! Management have done such a wonderful job of training its staff that every single member of the team needs to be applauded and lauded for the way they carry out their duties every day to make the guests’ stay as perfect and magical as possible! And, for our stay personally, I want to take this moment to personally thank and positively review the following members of staff for their outstanding level of service and attention to detail when dealing with me and my family:

1. At Reception… the entire team were extremely welcoming and accommodating to our requests but I want to personally thank team member Ercan and Manager Caner for going above and beyond throughout our stay to make sure all our requests were taken care of! Thank you so much!
2. The Doormen … Oli and Joseph were fantastic every time they greeted us and the main doorman Obi was absolutely brilliant towards me and my family and especially to my mum who struggles to walk. Everytime he saw us he would offer her his arm and open doors and escort her to and from our car! Thank you!
3. Our Housekeepers and Floor Manager… As we had two rooms, we had two separate Housekeepers in Gül and Vecihe! Both ladies made sure our rooms were immaculate throughout our stay and again were very accommodating to our requests! Thank you to both ladies! And our floor manager was Fatma, who again was impeccable in her coordination and made sure to fulfill any requests that the housekeepers could not!
4. Moving over to the Spice Restaurant and we have a huge list of names to thank and laud over here! Firstly, to our lovely hostesses, Nil and Cansu, who with their big smiles and beautiful faces and souls, greeted us every day into the restaurant hall and even helped to direct us to the nearest table! To Necla, the head of the restaurant, her professionalism and willingness to help and coordinate her team made for a flawless experience every time we dined in the restaurant! To Erdal Şef, one of the head Chefs in the restaurant, he made sure we never went without anything in the restaurant! Every time he saw us he would ask if he could prepare anything extra or something special that we couldn’t find, he would recommend dishes he thought we would like and he even provided recommendations for us to try at the other restaurants, Kömür and Khephal! Then we move on to the Waiters, those ever moving, energetic and lively men and women who made sure our tables were kept clean, our drinks, teas were topped up and anything missing from our tables were always replenished! I want to thank Raj, Yunus Emre and Ufuk personally for their dedication to our family throughout our stay! But the whole team should be applauded! And last but certainly not least, I want to thank Cennet! This lady made the Gözleme (a sort of Turkish flatbread/tortilla) every other day but for us she went above and beyond and fulfilled a very special request of making fresh Kaymakli katmer (a sweet flatbread made of cream oil and sugar) as well as making other gözleme’s fresh for us! Thank you Cennet hanim!
5. Next we move on to our experience on going to the beach every day! As I mentioned above, it was too hot to walk all the way to the beach area so we fully used the buggy service and in particular, I would like to thank Adil for his personal service! He was always available to take us to and from the beach with a smile and utmost professionalism! Thank you! And at the beach, I would like to first thank Eylül for warmly welcoming us every day (as she worked in the bar/restaurant area of the sandy beach side)! Her smile and courtesy towards us made our trips to the beach even better and she also made sure we were happy and our needs fulfilled! And again, lastly but by no means least , I want to absolutely thank and applaud Ibrahim! This gentleman who constantly ran around the beach area bringing towels, rearranging sunbeds, fulfilling guest requests was absolutely brilliant and ever so courteous towards us! He immediately noticed my mum’s distress and discomfort in walking and made it his personal mission to make sure she could get the down the steps to the sea by holding her and carrying any excess items we had! He made sure we had plenty towels and made sure we were comfortable and happy for the duration of our stays on the beach! Thank you so much to all of you!
6. And finally I want to give special mentions to chef Alparslan in Khephal who, at the direction of chef Erdal, made our night at the restaurant extremely special … even creating unique off-menu items freshly prepared for us! Thank you! And finally there was head waiter Hasan at Khephal who again made us feel so welcome and attended to all evening and even took one of the best pics we had all holiday!

To the management and owners of Lords palace, thanks for making our stay a memorable and special one from the first day to the last! Your hotel is fantastic but I want to emphasise that your Secret Power is your impeccable team of Staff! They all made our stay that extra special! We were made to feel like VIPs at every turn! And because of this we will be returning again and again for many years to come!

This hotel exceeded my expectations! The rooms were spotless, elegantly designed, and had stunning views. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. Great location and delicious breakfast. Highly recommended.
Foods ar amazing.

Positives-
Oti (staff) - front of house! He was so welcoming, smile on his face all the time, happy to help when needed, informative!
Raj (satff) - restuarant! He was great, sense of humour, remembered our drinks order, attentive, always happy!
Ozge (staff) - guest relations! She was brilliant, helpful, sorted our car hire, used google translate when communication was difficult, sought us out to check in on us, whatsapp'd to check in, and sent messages of places to visit - very useful!

Food - was lovely, good variety albeit NEVER hot. Luke warm food all the time, which i am told is normal in Northern Cyprus but strange to us.

Rooms - were fine, cleaned daily, big comfy beds, had what was needed. Albeit a little dated.

Spa- jacuzzi not great and not the water rather murky. Pool area could do with updating.

Casino - VERY smokey, everyone smoking in there and the smell of smoke travels around the whole hotel, which hits you when you walk out of the room.

Hotel - staff great, easy check in and out, helpful, rather grand but we would say 4star rather than 5star. The hotel is situated in an area surrounded by office/business buildings, direlict/half built buildings, lots of stray dogs and cats, need a car to travel to different places, although Kyrenia castle and the harbour is walking distance (20mins). The outdoor pool and beach area were all closed off which was a shame.

The best hotel in the Kyrenia area: superb staff, great restaurants and very good facilities.

Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable.

Very good value for such an excellent quality hotel whose staff go that little bit extra to look after you.

Absolutely fabulous stay as we traveled with friends for a birthday celebration every one of us was complimentary upgraded to suit .
Guest relations ozge was very helpful with any questions and guidance.

Our booking with Lord Palace started with Misra hanim and continued with welcome by Muge hanim. Thanks to Sami bey (General Maneger) for building such a good team that sheared information and made us welcome all through our 9 days holiday. We were treated as guests no as customer which was more pleasing. Customer relation team specially Kaan and Ozge was there for all our requirements. There are many more names to mention like Zeynem from Komur Fatma from spa etc overall thanks to everyone made our stay great.

The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They were extremely accommodating and allowed us to check in early at like 12:30, I had a wonderful experience at the this hotel . Also The staff are all great!
