Sold as 450 yards from the station - actually 6 minute walk up a very steep hill.
Charged £20 for a dog per night and also noticed £5 to park a car overnight..
Check-in - Receptionist not friendly or engaging, advised dog couldn’t go to the breakfast room, asked if we could have breakfast in the bar … sorry dogs not allowed in the bar, we ended up having breakfast on the ‘outside terrace’ AKA the smoking area, not nice. Breakfast standard no choice of eggs of vegetarian options that I noticed.
Our room was nothing like the photos on the website. Shabby furniture, old bathroom in need of a refurb and mould under the window near the bed..
We honestly couldn’t get out of there quick enough this morning ..
Wouldn’t recommend it !!
Misrepresentation of OUR ROOM on website, very tired, hadn't been decorated for ages but bathroom ok. Complained but staff not interested, plenty of rooms hard luck. Room wasn't made up, no apology.
Lounge bar. Room and bathroom were spacious.
Kept awake all night by guests in next room. Walls are that thin i could hear them talking and laughing all night. When considering placement of guests your staff should have taken this into consideration.
Nice quiet room.. lovely bath with nice hot water
I really liked everything about this lovely old hotel. Great location, close to everything; clean, quiet room; a bath (you don't seem so many of them these days) with lots of hot water; friendly staff; great price; and a nice (and big) breakfast. What's not to like??
Comfortable, clean and quiet hotel in the centre of the town. Good breakfast with lots of choice. Great value for money.
There is no free parking for residents at the hotel.
This hotel was booked for a coach tour. I arrived concerned as recent reviews were not complimentary. The hotel is a little tired and there were some niggles with some of the rooms. Overall though it was absolutely fine. Friendly staff, rooms cleaned to a decent standard and good food in the restaurant. There did seem to be some issues with rooms in the basement but on the first floor things were fine. Plenty of parking available which costs £5 a night. Walking into the town took about 5 minutes. I would stay here again.
I have stayed in this property on numerous occasions previously however I am very disappointed and due to the attitude of the staff I shall never stay again. We booked this hotel as it clearly states "welcoming pet friendly hotel which offers a warm welcome to well behaved pets and understands they are part of the family" however based on my experience this is not the case. We returned to the hotel to have a drink and were only then told, even after having the courtesy to enquire, that the dog was only allowed out on the balcony area. We then asked what the situation was regarding breakfast as we had booked via the phone having enquired about the dog and were only then told, rather curtly by the receptionist may I add, that the solution was to leave the dog in the room or in the vehicle. If you are looking to stay in a pet friendly hotel in Carmarthen this is NOT the one.
Location was good
Rooms were dated decor wise
