When I read the reviews, I was sceptical and thought maybe I had made a mistake booking here. But was I ever wrong! 😀
Check in was quick and easy. Receptionist was nice and funny (James Bond 007 😂). Lobby was comfortable and had cold water. Our room was surprisingly spacious and very clean. The bed was comfortable - the first and only comfortable bed I've slept in in GC with my bad back. We had no problems connecting our Netflix to the tv from my phone. The bathroom was also clean and spacious. The shower was the best we've had so far in GC (my 10th time visiting GC, first time at this hotel and PDI).
The buffet at morning, lunch and dinner had plenty to choose from, and always something different for dinner in the grill area. The juices were delicious! Even my kid had plenty options and she's picky!!! The evening entertainment was quite fun.
The pool bar had good Ron Miel and beer - and other drinks too, but we stuck to the rum and beer 😅 Martín, the bartender was awesome (sorry Martín for keeping you very very busy with pouring the Ron Miel 🤣). Anthea (uh-oh!) the entertainer was so much fun. We did Beer Pong, Schulen (?), Death Darts and Yoga 🤣👏👏👏 She really made a positive mark on our stay and kept us busy!
The hotel is a few steps from the beach and lots of other bars, entertainment and shopping. Walking distance to Yumbo and just a 10min taxi drive to Faro (where I stayed the previous 9 times).
They have turtles by the seating area outside the buffet 😍😍😍
I can not say that there was anything I didn't like, but a few things that maybe could make this absolutely perfect 😊
Cushions on the seats by the pool bar would make it a little more comfortable. Dim the lighting a little bit over the bar and seating area would make it more cozy and inviting. Maybe even colored lights over the seating area.
The airconditioner in our room was set at 24°c and we couldn't lower it. The maintenance guy tried but I think it's just a new system they have and needs a little learning and adjusting to - we totally managed with the balcony door open, so no complaints.
The pool was really too cold for me, but my daughter liked it and I saw other people using it, so maybe it's just me 😅
Very professional and helpful staff. Johny who was responsible for entertainment was so friendly. Amazing location.
Hotel undertaken a big refurbishment, some details are not finalised.
- Sehr freundliches Personal
- Große und leckere Auswahl beim Essen
- Schöne Bar am Pool
- Nur wenige Gehminuten bis zum Strand
nichts
Great front line beach front location . Close to shops & bars . Very friendly staff. Room towels & sheets changed daily. Food is outstanding ! Great variety , Spanish flavours & very good quality. Free Cava at breakfast too. Pool is small. Bar is openair & away from the Hotel facing the sea. A steep walk up hill is the massive Yumbo shopping centre and bus stops to all areas including Airport.
Bedrooms very clean but basic & tired decor. No hotel lounge to relax. Evening entertainment takes place in the restaurant while you eat.
However, the Hotel knows this and is about to have a total entire refit this year !
Food was okay, passible
Pool looks like a swamp very dirty at the bottom of it,youd see cleaners around but they got equipment out stared at it packed it away and off they went, staff very rude people looking at you as though you had two heads,if your over 65+ you would love this or a swinger this is the place for you,the bed was so uncomfortable we ended up on a rock hard sofa which was completely wrong as we paid through the nose for this, room was full of mould and damp, the bar lady at the Sahara bar at the front kept on making us crap drinks like not just the one like allll of our stay, really disappointed, she would look at you like you've just took a crap on her head, defo won't be going back if you face don't fit your not welcome or that's how it feels, dining room staff taking food and drinks before you've even finished, the list goes on
Bar not open in hotel paid for all inclusive only open at meal time no bar by pool no food all day example ice cream paid for sea view got a corner room
Location was absolutely perfect...short walk to beach and Yumbo Centre
I found the bed most uncomfortable. Pillows terrible and no window in bedroom.
Initially upon arrival we were disappointed as hotel seemed a little run down/dated and room quite basic. However this soon disappeared as the variety of great touches and positives greatly outweigh the negatives.
Location right opposite bustly square and 30metres from beach.
Restaurant food very good for all inclusive. Lots choice and nice touches not seen in other AI we have been to. Eg. Drinks - ice and lime/lemon available, proper full size glasses (pints for beer and large wine glasses), good quality beer (Amstel) and nice wine (white very well chilled), all on a “help yourself” basis. Bottles of Prosecco even available at breakfast!
Freshly cooked delicious steaks cooked to order, food piping hot and regularly replenished, very good choice of food and generally very good quality - we were wary as sometimes AI food is not up to par but here it was all very good indeed. Deserts were delishious and varied, staff attentive friendly and helpful. Shots served on way in! And live entertainment during dinner each night added to a great atmosphere - live music, dancers, etc. lovely touches like bowls of nibbles (crisps) available, ice cream cones, sweets, fruit, etc.
Shower - very powerful and plenty of hot water, large cubicle.
Nice balcony overlooking road/square/beach.
Bar: very nice bar with extremely friendly and attentive staff. it is at at front of hotel overlooking the main square, very pleasant to sit in and open to public with good selection of drinks which can be served to sit in (proper glasses) or to take away (served in paper cups) - they were happy for drinks to be taken to your room or the beach or wherever you like, so great flexibility. Drink measure very generous (eg Prosecco takeaway served in 300ml paper cups which they filled to the brim!).
Cocktail selection quite limited however - only certain ones available on AI (eg mojito not included) and they weren’t that nice.
Two pools but quite small and generally shady, and location of bar not convenient for the pools as would be a bit of a walk (only a few mins tho!). Didn’t seem much atmosphere around the pools so this hotel probably not suitable if you wanted to spend all day in the hotel (but why would you want to with a lovely beach on the doorstep!).
Roof terrace pleasant enough with good views, but again probably not good for spending the day at if you wanted regular drinks, music, etc.
no parking, and the large car park by the hotel is expensive (17 euros per day). However ample free street parking available a short walk away.
Wi-Fi poor - only available free by reception and it wasn’t the speediest. Have to pay per day per device if want it in your room - very old fashioned this day and age especially for AI.
Some communal areas felt a little run down and dated - perhaps 3 star rather than 4 star a little more accurate?
Large Safe in bedroom available at small charge (3 euros per day).
All inclusive
N/A
Absolutely nothing.
Horrible Experience - Avoid at All Costs!
My stay at this hotel was nothing short of appalling. Here's a summary of the issues I encountered:
Terrible food: Absolutely inedible and not worth the price.
Rude staff: No effort made to assist guests or resolve issues.
Early bar closure: The so-called "all-inclusive" bar shuts at 10:30 pm, which is ridiculous. Also, the bar is by the beach, leaving nothing near the pool area.
Small pools: Tiny, overcrowded, and not enjoyable.
Unusable gym: The gym is poorly lit, becoming unusable after sunset at 7 pm. The treadmills don’t even power on!
Limited WiFi: Free WiFi is only available in the reception area—completely outdated.
Ineffective air conditioning: Stuck at an uncomfortable 23°C.
Shared iron: One iron for the entire hotel—an absolute joke.
This hotel fails to meet even the basic standards of hospitality. Do yourself a favour and avoid this place.
