Lovely location with balcony overlooking the square

Limpieza y atención excelente
Our room was spotless, it had a renovated bathroom and bedroom, both which were a little larger than we’d expected from the photos. Our balcony on the 3rd floor overlooked the side street and down into the Puerta del Sol. The windows were soundproofed, though being right in such a busy area we could still hear some of the noise outside, I had no trouble sleeping through it though. The buffet breakfast (€15pp) was good. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We would be very glad to stay here again in the future.
Location
If you don't pre pay your parking don't go to the one the hotel suggests as it's more expensive than one on the side street . The rooms are tired and need some TLC . But staff are friendly and the location was great . Coffee shop and ice cream place opposite is a great find for coffee
Great location!
We found the staff to be rude and completely unhelpful, restaurant staff ignored us for over 10 minutes and we ended up leaving. The restaurant was not busy and servers were chatting with each other’s, there is no good customer service at the hotel.
Our room was located on the fourth floor and had a balcony, the room looked old and not well maintained, one wall showed signs of mildew on it and they had just covered it with paint.
We were told that we could not control the AC/Heating system in the room, that if we got too hot we should open the balcony to get cold air into our room.
The cleaning lady that cleaned our room the first week was fantastic after that the rest of our stay we had to wait until after 3:30 PM for our room to be cleaned. Staff members looked very uncomfortable around customers and avoided interacting with customers.
We expected so much more from the hotel after reading about it in Rick Steve’s books unfortunately we were very disappointed with the experience in general.

We had a very nice and roomy room. Good beds, everything was very clean.
Sometimes a bit of noise from the streets, sometimes a bit of noise from the corridor.
Otherwise, excellent hotel in a great central location (Sol).
La ubicación es muy buena, el alojamiento es amplio y limpio con un sentido de cuidado al medio ambiente que se valora en estos tiempos.
A pesar de que la ubicación es muy buena, si se va en auto o taxi después de las 10 a.m. estos no llegan al hotel ya que la calle se vurlve peatonal. El dessyuno no vale la pena, es preferible afuera hay muchas opciones mejores y más económicas.
Exceptional staff, clean and comfortable rooms unbeatable location. We truly enjoyed our time at Hotel Europa and cannot wait to return. Highly recommend!
This was a perfectly located hotel right in the town center of Madrid.
It has a lovely restaurant on-site and with easy access to busses and trains and to lovely restaurants in the vicinity

We loved the location of this hotel. There was always a high level of activity at Plaza Del Sol. The noise level concerned us but the windows were of the highest quality and did a fine job of blocking the noise. The hotel staff were very helpful. The outdoor cafe was a great place to people watch in the late afternoon or early evening before dinner.
