Our stay at Sahil INN Hotel in Baku was wonderful! The hotel’s central location is its biggest advantage—everything in Baku City Center and the Boulevard is just a short walk away.
The rooms have a contemporary yet well-maintained design, offering a comfortable stay. The staff truly make this place special, especially Manager Revan, Day Manager Murad, and the entire reception and breakfast team. Their warm hospitality and attentiveness stood out.
Breakfast, though with a limited selection, is fresh and delicious. They serve a standard meal for each guest but happily accommodate requests when possible.
Overall, a great stay with an amazing team, and we will definitely choose Sahil INN again!
We arrived late due to visa problems and were keen for a bed little did we know we had booked into the little house of horrors. Managed by a rude and slightly dangerous man whose main aim is to rip off the punter. Breakfast was poor and repetitive.
Unfriendly manager who gave us a worse room but insisted we pay the price for balcony room Which he didn’t even have one as was renovating then while we were there.
Manager asked us to cancel booking so he did not have to pay the fee then said bank payments didn’t work. Only wanted cash . When we asked to renegotiate the price as we where now in a basic double room he got very cross. Said we had agreed to price. He said he would call police we said fine we just want to pay fair price
We had Arrived late and just wanted to go to room. Very hot. Didn’t even turn on aircon for us.
Shower went everywhere all over floor
Bottom sheet did not cover mattress
Tv all in Russian
Breakfast basic - Nescafé coffee stale white bread very cheap.
And beware stairs to hotel. No lift.
The hotel is not 4* and I do not know the explanation for the 9.2 rating. The positive is its location: everything can be reached with a short walk, and the metro is very close.
As I read on other sites, they use the same trick not only with us, but also with other guests. They give you an extremely low-quality, small, hot, dirty, dilapidated room, and when you protest and try to change, the receptionist tells you that you can only pay in cash, and "helpfully" cancels the Booking reservation (as if you only stayed there for one day). , and gives a better room. In the "better room" at least the mattress is comfortable and the bed linen is clean. The equipment is very poor. The one armchair is so dirty that I only dared to sit on it while covering it with a towel. The "terrace" is a joke: a very dirty concrete cube, without any furniture (we could sit on a T-shirt spread on the ground), a bleak concrete staircase leads from it to the shabby miserable backyard. The shower hose and hand shower are missing in the shower. There is no refrigerator. The breakfast is the same every day, very poor, served by 2 reluctant cooks from 8:30 to 9:30.
The door of the hotel is a worn iron door of an apartment building, through which you enter a dirty, dark stairwell. The entrance to the hotel is one and a half floors up. Behind him at the reception sits a tired, listless man who practically lives in the hotel. He is on duty 24/7, eats at the kitchen ladies' spot, and sleeps on the sofa in the "lobby-breakfast room" and watches TV there. If you're looking for a centrally located penny hostel, this is the place to be. If you choose the **** hotel shown in the pictures, you will be very disappointed.
Not saying this is a Totally bad place to stay, it does have its Positives such as: Location is dead central & it is the the same building which leads to the Metro Station,
However Many points has to be clarified before you book you trip here:
1. This "hotel" is a Single Floor Residence converted to a Hotel. Entrance is a Steel door which leads to stairs that takes you up a Level where you'll face the Reception desk. Then a door leads you to a Hallway / Dining area where tables are set with doors to the rooms are facing the same are (the Pic with dining tables)
2. Rooms were recently fitted out, however poorly. Bigger rooms were little better
3. Checking in, they will always ask for Cash & give excuses for any other payment methods. Or they will ask you to cancel your (free Cancelation) booking & give a small discount if you pay cash. (point here is you cant complain to your booking provider later once you are baffled
4. Breakfast was portioned by trays - like school / prison - & given by person. we actually went downstairs to the grocery & bought Cheese & eggs & had them cook them for us rather that Half of a hard boiled Egg & Jam packet
The rooms are very tired. Faucets leak and fall apart, the walls are dirty, which creates a feeling of disgust, the springs of the mattress "massage" the sides all night.
If you need a hostel-level room, it is normal. If you are counting on comfort, you are not here
What a great little place! Such friendly people, so helpful and loving towards my kids. I would totally recommend this place for your stay in Baku.
A great price for the location. Its very central and everything is easily walking distance. My kids were able to walk everywhere - Fountain Square, Nizami (shopping) Street, the promenade, the Old City, the Fenucular (train) to see the views… the list goes on.
The room is basic but we didn't need to spend much time there as we were out exploring everyday. The breakfast is plentiful, we enjoyed the black tea with cloves. We had options such as french toast, a soft fresh cake, boiled or fried eggs, omelette, toast etc. They will arrange a return taxi airport for a great price too, makes it so convenient.
Emil and Mourad were fantastic hosts, very friendly and helpful. Always asked if there was anything we needed. Just genuinely nice people. We loved our 5 night stay in Baku. Beautiful city, but what makes it truly great are the beautiful people. Thank you for having us and we look forward to staying here again sometime in the future.
(THANK YOU again Emil for helping me with getting my phone to me. I left my phone in the taxi on the way to the airport - such a stressful hour - they helped me get my phone to me. It meant so much... Thank you. I am so grateful 🙏 💛)
Very disappointing experience. The location is great. The facility is not well maintained. The breakfast is so poor. The management is not trustworthy. Credit cards are not accepted, even though the hotel claims that credit cards are accepted. The rooms are noisy. The bed and pillows are uncomfortable. The sheets are too small for the mattress. The staff tries to overcompensate for the hotel shortcomings by being friendly.
The staff was very friendly and helpful! Especially the man in the reception was super helpful and kind. Location of the hotel is excellent; walking distance to all the main attractions and restaurants. Big room and a reasonable price.
It would be nice to have some furniture on the balcony - if you have such an outdoor space there should be at least some chairs to sit on. No safety box in the room. For light sleepers the noise from the very busy street might be disturbing but we didn't mind. When taking a shower the bathroom floor flooded and we had to use towels to dry it. When arriving we didn't have any toiletpaper in the room so had to go and ask for some. But these were all quite minor things.
Nice, helpful staff, very-very good location, good-sized, nicely decorated, clean room, comfortable beds, great value for money, but definitely not a 4 star hotel.
Fridge would be good in the room, and the bathroom would need a bit of work: repainting, changing the taps, and putting up hangers for the towels. We had a room facing to the courtyard which was full of AC outside units they were very noisy, we could hear them through the closed windows. Dont take cards, so you have to pay in cash.
Staff and owner was super friendly and helped us in an emergency, even though we did not stay at that hotel at the time, next time I'm in Baku, I will definitely stay at this fine establishment.
Most serviceminded staff in the City! I have been to 26 countries around the world (I'm 19 at the time of writing) and I have never encountered more friendly and serviceminded staff.
This must be the most helpful staff I have ever met during my travels around the world. I have visited 70 countries and I have never before met a person with such a good heart as Delara. She helped us out when everything went wrong during our stay in Baku and is the reason why we ended up having a good trip even though the circumstances were bad. Thank you so much, you are an angel🌹 Hope to come back and stay at your place!
Charming hotel, with nice and friendly staff, in a great location. Our room was perfectly clean, and just as it was in the pictures.
We read before, that there were problems with the hot water or internet, but we didn't experience any. You have to wait a bit until the hot water reaches you, but after it will be extra-hot if you don't change it. We had our own router in the room, so our WIFI was strong always. The staff were kind, the guy at the reception speaks English perfectly and is very helpful. The metro station, the boulevard, the old city and many restaurants are really close since it is in the city centre. But this advantage is a disadvantage at the same time since there is still traffic during the night (the windows are doing good in keeping the noise out, but it is still not quiet).
I can really recommend this place to anyone!
Despite it being impossible to get to this hotel due to Covid19 travel restrictions, they were unwilling to refund the money for the stay. Communication was ZERO - they refued to answer the phone or email - so I suspect they were actually not open for business (but still took my money)
ホテルとエキスぺディアとのトラブルに巻き込まれかなりの時間を無駄にした。トラブルの原因はホテル側にあったようだ。ここ
I had 3 reservations with this hotel, separated over several days. I have already submitted my first review where they simply refused to let me have the suite I booked for the reason that someone else booked a longer stay than I did, and they could afford to lose me and not lose him.
The second time was no different. They took me to a very small room, claiming it was the suite I booked. After being pressed to take me to my real room, they did. When asked why they lied, they said the manager asked them to do so. They also told me the next day that they would NOT accommodate me for my next stay, again because they guaranteed a person having a longer stay there. This happened after the free cancelation date. Hotels.com stepped in and found me another semi acceptable hotel in the same area. They claim the hotel will be getting a financial penalty. PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!
Very good location. Reasonable price.
But, you can be panicked because there is hostel which name is similiar.(Sahil hostel & hotel)
Additionally, this hotel's address is wrong in google map.
(Right address bulba street, but google map show Sahil hostel & hotel's address. For this reason, I went to wrong hotel first time.
I arrived to the hotel, with a confirmed booking, only to find out that the hotel has overbooked the room and basically asked to find somewhere else to stay. The rooms we’re not even occupied at that moment. They just decided to give it to another person having a longer stay than I am. Hotels.com customer service was of no help either despite me being a gold member. I ended up leaving the entire city altogether because of this. Worst hotel ever!!
