Actually, stayed here a couple times and it's always been great service. Great staff, friendly management. All encompassed by a family friendly environment with always fresh and piping hot breakfast every morning.
I was upset to find that some neighboring hotels charged 6 euro PER HOUR for the wifi.
The Yacht Marina offers Wi Fi for free. The rooms are very comfortable and the staff friendly.
The included breakfast not particulary rich but you will not starve .
Recommended!.
I stayed for 2 nights in Mar 2013.
The hotel is very well situated right by the side of a boat marina. The "main" road passes in front of the hotel, so there is a little road noise - I didn't hear much at night, but if you want a room that is potentially quieter, you will sacrifice the nice view.
It is only 10 mins from the airport to the hotel by car; I had a free shuttle, but I don't know if this is chargeable during the high season. Depending on who is at the hotel reception, you may not find much English spoken. There was free wi-fiI Internet in the lobby area.
My room was of a good size, as was the bathroom. Everything was clean & tidy. Even though the temperature outside was quite warm, the room was very cold. A ceramic heater was already switched on, & there was an electric fan heater on the wall above the bed. Other than when going to sleep, I left the ceramic heater on all the time, & the fan heater on when in the room. It took over 24 hrs to get things to a comfortable temperature. There was air conditioning, but I presume that is for summer only, as it was not functional. A minor niggle, there was a large information/guidebook, but only in Italian, so it wasn't easy to pick out good tourist points.
Breakfast was what I would call average "Continental" with no hot food options. Nothing outstanding but nothing bad that I experienced.
I didn't have the time or option to explore the island fully, which was a pity, as there are lots of geographical sites, places of beauty, or marvellous walks. I wandered from the hotel (turning left) for several miles along the coast; not much about other than the sea! Certainly no beaches that way, rather the black & grey volcanic stones.
If you turn right from the hotel, in a very short while, you get to the "town" centre. I noted a pharmacy if needed. There was a good atmosphere in "Tiffanys Bar" which is just hidden behind the large castle building. Keep walking all the way along the marina edge, past a very small set of petrol pumps, & right near to a fish shop(?) "Master Fish" maybe, there is a nice pizza restaurant - main entrance is through a stone topped arch, then up some steps. I had 2 excellent pizzas on 2 separate visits - they didn't skimp on the toppings. Reasonable service & good value for money. Note - cash only, no plastic!
Overall, I would rate my stay at the Yacht Marina as nothing special, but not uncomfortable.
I spent just one night here during the low-season (december). We were 3, and we occupied a twiun bed room and a king bed room. We found them very clean and tidy, warmed by an electric heater. No noises all around. Breakfast was rich and people at the desk was very kind. This choise was quite cheap, as we paied 120€ at all.
