Guest Reviews
They serve a terrific, varied buffet breakfast & offer a complimentary take-away one, if you need to check out before 6.30 am.
The rooms were super clean & the beds very comfortable. Stitched onto the corners of the pillows were "soft" & "hard"- a nice touch.
Extremely central to the CBD & only a few minutes walk to the light rail, which takes you to Newcastle Beach.
The bathrooms have glass doors which make it seem brighter & more open in the daytime, however, if you're sharing the room with someone & get up in the night to use the bathroom, the light emanates into the bedroom....
The hotel is very close to Newcastle Interchange Train Station, light rail and bus routes which was important for me on this particular trip. The buffet breakfast included in the room fee was very adequate, with hot and cold options. In the room, the bed was fairly comfortable and there were USB charging ports, which is always a plus. The staff I interacted with were friendly and helpful.
One thing that spoiled breakfast was the self-serve coffee. It was pretty awful. The staff can make you a barista style coffee, which is much more palatable, but comes at an extra charge.
The person who checked me in (Linda) was very helpful and willing to be innovative to help me with my particular difficulties having lost my credit card.
Also the buffet breakfast was better than I had experienced at other stays at Holiday Inn Express
The fact that housekeeping did not replenish the teabags nor replace dirty cups and glasses.
The welcoming team and central location.
As a solo traveler this was very much appreciated.
Breakfast was excellent.
Rooms could have been cleaned better and the beds were a bit small for us.
Great location and helpful friendly staff
Everything its fantastic
Nothing
Close to union fields for footy comp.
Needs signage at eye level/driving level to view location better whilst driving in traffic
Warm welcome at reception, comfortable room. good dinner and breakfast
Cant think of anything.
Parking and breakfast
Bed uncomfortable, hole in sheets.
Everything, we so much enjoyed it there, we will definitely be back soon
Nothing
Room size was adequate the room internals were reasonably equipped and working (mostly).
Concierge was 24/7 I think, although I did not test to the extents.
Lack of daily cleaning services, breakfast had a hard start at 6:30 which was too late for the whole week I was there, take out options were very poor, so generally ignored. Breakfast on the Saturday I left was delayed further, just in time for me to not have it before leaving!
The customer service from the moment I walked in.
Great place central to our requirements
Clean with great parking
