The hotel is extremely quiet. The location could not be more central (about 12 mins walk to the train station/short walk to main attractios). The King size bed was extremely comfortable. The air con was decent, likewise the wifi. Water pressure too. All big ticks.
I felt very comfortable staying here and can therefore recommend this place; let's be honest there really isn't much choice in this small town for budget accommodation. And as a contrast to the first receptionist, when I checked out a younger lady was friendly and courteous.
First impressions, to be honest weren't good. However, I can't lie—after settling in I felt very comfortable here and you can't beat the location. So, after being ripped off by a taxi driver for the short ride from the train station (next time, I'll obviously use Grab!) upon checking in I was presented with a very unfriendly and miserable looking female receptionist. Not the best of first impressions for Taiping...
I smiled at her, said "How are you?" but received no warm response: I honestly don't understand how people can work as a receptionist in a hotel and lack any basic customer service! Why not work elsewhere—preferably where you don't have to deal directly with customers???
Anyways, walking down the dark gloomy corridor to the lift (thankfully working) and upon entering my rather small and shabby room, not the cleanest one I've been in either, I discovered there were no towels. Have I made the right decision coming to Taiping I was starting to ponder.
However, once I cleaned the room up abit and unpacked my stuff, I soon settled into it. I left the dirty mirrors alone as I was only staying here for four nights (if longer, I can't stand filthy mirrors so get my wet wipes out). The room has clearly seen better days, that's for sure.

Check in towel tak BG .. bila minta yg jaga malam kata pagi esok baru bagi.. sampai ke sudah tak BG.. terpaksa lap pakai baju sendiri..
There is a lift built in within the hotel and the lift is properly maintained! And the location is still fine! Toilet is clean! WiFi working smoothly! Air cond working! Got kettle and mineral water provided inside the room. Counter staffs are mostly females so felt less threatening being watched by females staff! Got small desk and chair inside the room for relevant purposes!
I request for a non smoking room via booking.com but they gave me a smoking room, The whole room is very very very disgustingly smelly inclusive the bed and caused me dizziness and I also couldn’t sleep due to the intolerable uncomfortable triggering smell and mustiness, so my day was ruined because of sleep deprivation! And there were dust mold and spiders web around some corners of the room! No shower amenities and toiletries except for two tiny soaps and yellowish towel! No hair dryer too! Upon check out around 12.30pm the staff at the check out counter seem like tried to scam me for RM10 by claiming I check out later than 12pm which such rules to impose fines on any customers check out later than 12pm were not told to me beforehand when I check in and wasn’t stated anywhere on their site online too! So high chance she was trying to scam me for her extra tips! Because other hotels would be lenient enough as long not too much exceeded the check out time such as not exceeding 12.45pm. And I also sense that the hotel staffs tend to “put words in customer’s mouth” to falsely accuse their customers for nearly everything either denial on their incapabilities or miscommunication between the staff and customers or possible scamming etc! The public parking in front of the hotel also pretty much depending on luck by availabilities and will need governmental regulated parking tickets or governmental public parking app to park at the public parkings in front of the hotel, so it wasn’t in perfect convenience for those driving too!

Pillow cases has some stain on it, cobwebs and spiders on the wall , some ants were crawling on bed , one of the lights didn't not work
