Perfect for a family wedding in the area. It was very well appointed and the staff were super helpful.
Can't really say... earlier breakfast as I'm an early riser... Otherwise... really lovely
Everything
Nothing
It was nice
No red wine available, and without an argument, I would have had to pay Corkage 60ZAR! However, this was wavered.
The food was not very good just edible
Vincent who greeted us was very good and polite
Service, food, red wine
Breakfast was good but it could've been better.
There is no fridge in the room, the TV is not playing and the car path is very rough on small cars
Couldn't get assess to my room when I got there because there was no one to hand me over the keys, had to go to book somewhere
Everything
Honestly my stay was exceptional. I’ve stayed here twice so far and I’ve always received the best treatment from the staff. The breakfast is exceptional but the polite staff was my highlight, all the way from the gate to the kitchen. Definitely coming back here. The rooms are super clean and loaded with amenities.
The WiFi in rooms 1-25 might need to be looked at urgently. The bandwidth is extremely low and the TVs cannot pick up the WiFi signal. The signal is not the best for someone travelling for work or wanting to get away for an online read or catch up on some documentary.
Location was good with nice views of the mountains Breakfast was good.
Although the food was good, supper was expensive. Access road was worse for wear due to recent rains, It was difficult to navigate the deep ruts with a standard family vehicle. Dining room was too dark (insufficient lighting). Games room looked like a storeroom and no equipment available to play any games. Safety standards were poor - an employee/resident used a firehose to wash a vehicle. Firehoses were not up to necessary safety standards (leaks were patched with plastic). Access to accommodation was obtain by ill maintained road and that part of property was littered with 'junk' - not visually appealing at all. Overall impression of facilities / buildings was that of neglect
What we liked was the room, nice large bed with aircon. The plugs were very hand with C-type and USB sockets. Bathroom had a shower and bath. lovely view from balcony and surrounding gardens were very beautiful. The pool was lovely and had a nice big step for toddlers.
The road there is a sand road & with the rain muddy, luckily we have a 4X4 but something to consider if you have a small car. The room could use a mini bar fridge but not essential. The overall place needs a bit of TLC like the games room was abandoned & gardens further back near lake. The private parking area is just some wooden poles a& open so basically your car is just parked outside in the open. It does look like they are busy upgrading the place.
Then something that is actually out of their hands but if these are frequent guests it is something to mention. We went to the pool area to have a swim with our toddler. Upon arriving we saw a family already there & said hello, they said hello back & were friendly. Then a group of young girls came to the pool & were jumping in & laughing, as you do at a pool. I was in the pool with my toddler smiling at them and being friendly but they completely ignored us & didn't acknowledge us at all. Not a smile, not a hello, nothing. I saw a girl adjusting her bikini top & her friends helped her, I just smiled as that was nice of them but the girl turned to me & looked at me straight in my face & started speaking to me with attitude & aggression in another language. I said to her, I speak English so if you have something to say to me please speak in English. She just turned away & her friends all laughed. After that, anytime I swam around with my toddler they kept yelling mama this, mama that. They were being very intimidating & made it very unpleasant, as if we were not allowed there. I was ready to just leave but my toddler being an innocent 3 year old who doesn't discriminate wanted to swim with her new friends. So we stayed. Luckily one of the girls did acknowledge us & my toddler trying to swim with her, she was friendly.
The staff absolutely amazing, beautiful room, very comfortable bed, the food AMAZING!!!
We were there over new year and the people who booked in really didn’t obey any rules. They set off fireworks from the balcony and intoxicated people banged on our door, even tried to come into our room. The road in is also very very bad.
