What is there not to like about this place
Convenient to visiting family
We were in room 105 and the noise from above was awful from 5 am a child was running up and down the room sounding like a heard of elephants we gave up on a lie in and went home
Clean, air conditioned, good value.
Not much - a good value place to stay so I didn't expect too much.
Didn't have breakfast
Room was nice, with a spacious bathroom. Modern smart TV and strong Aircon on a very hot day.
Breakfast was a bit chaotic. The staff were very nice, but we struggled to find someone. Neither the pastries and juices were refilled whilst we were there. The cooked breakfast tasted good.
Room was decent enough for what we paid, decent sized bathroom and bath tub with a plug so you can actually bath. Tea and coffee facilities good, beds were comfy.,
Hotel was a little run down. Broken shelf in the wardrobe bit, mirror missing off wall but all the sealant and wood still there. Walls are thin so you can head absolutely everything going on above you if on ground floor.
Big car park and comfy room
Excellent breakfast. Toaster caused a few problems, with burned toast.
Breakfast was fantastic, great bath and great air conditioning.
Lack of towels. Would have preferred a double room rather than a twin
Location, pub area was comfortable. rooms were clean & comfortable but a bit dated.
Some staff seemed poorly trained & disinterested. The manager was inept and deceitful. There were posters in the pub & car park offering 3 pints of cask ale for £10 after 5pm. The manager said it did not apply to the two cask ales on the bar but I said the poster sates " cask ales" - she said not those ones !!! - there were no others !!!! - she said the rules were set by head office so I told her she could keep the 3 pints she had pulled and we would go elsewhere. Upon which she said on this occasion we could have them for £10 ( like the offe on the posterr said) - we went out elsewhere for food and on our return again attempted to order 3 pints for £10. The bar staff said the offer finished at 7pm - to which we pointed out the posters did not specify a finish time for the offer. The manager then approached and told the member of staff to put them through for £10. The manager or Marstons seem to have a distinct policy of deliberately trying to deceive their customers which quite frankly is disgraceful.
Room was clean and large with twin beds as requested. The ensuite was a nice size. It was very quiet and we had a lovely night. We ate at the pub and had the carvery which was great (tip sign up to their mailing list ahead of time as we got a voucher for the food). Loads of car parking, drive round the left of the building rather than parking the front bit. We checked in a the pub and the gentleman who served us was very good. The accommodation is separate to the pub so it is nice and calm. I had a really nice walk along the canal bank.
All excellent
