After booking they said the unit is no longer available
And didn’t make any good efforts to find me a unit
They kept telling me I should give them 5 minutes to sort things out
But in the end nothing was done
The PLS apartments are exceptional and conveniently located. There is a pharmacy and restaurant attached tot he property making it easy to get the essential things you need without traveling. The apartments are beautifully decorated and the pool is a nice and relaxing area to decompress.
Unfortunately we did reserve a 2 bedroom for 3 people and they did not have one available which meant an uncomfortable 4 days in a one bedroom before we opted for an additional studio - which separated our crew. Upon checkout we witnessed them say the same to a new family that had arrived - no 2 bedroom and the other option was to be separated across a 1bed and studio. Our hand held shower head was broken so it would spray water from different directions aggressively. We got maintanence to fix it on day 5. Getting toilet paper and towels from the room cleaners was always really difficult. They would say they were coming back with those things but never did. We were in constant communication with the manager Patrick who was helpful. Unfortunately it resulted in a constant tracking down of our needs during the entire trip- if it wasn’t one thing it was another.
I love this place and have stayed here on all my trips to Accra, but I would consider another apartment or hotel where essential amenities are provided and inventory is up to date.
We were upgraded as a compensation for PLS apartments double booking. This only happened because when we arrived at the apartment, Sammy one of the staff, asked to lock up one of the bedrooms in the 2 bed apartment that he brought us to so that we would not have access to it. When I explained to him that I felt this was unfair as it was their fault that we didn’t get our initial booking due to their double booking, he then left the room open so that’s how we got the upgrade. We were happy with the cleaning of the apartment every 2 days. We were not happy that there was no tennis court as advertised and there was no WiFi on the day before we left. I left several messages with Sarah, the manager of the property and she did nothing about getting us reconnected onto the WiFi. So on the day before we left, we had no WiFi. Instead she was more concerned about requesting that I change the review I had written on the day we checked in. An airport shuttle service was advertised but we didn’t get one on the day we arrived at the apartment because Sarah said she was unable to provide a shuttle for us as we were not arriving from the airport. When I asked for a shuttle for the morning we were leaving, Sarah said they don’t usually provide shuttle for drop offs but she would make an exception. I asked for a 5.30am pickup time and Sarah sent me a text at 6.04am on the morning we were leaving to say that the shuttle was running late so we had to take a taxi to the airport.
We loved everything about the place and we just can’t wait to visit there again
