Pros:

Charmant hotel, hors route principale. le personnel est très chaleureux, et il dispose d'une très grande piscine couverte et chauffée, ce qui est rare en montagne surtout dans cette catégorie.

Fantastic location, very clean and comfortable, but they're untruthful about the Wifi
Pros:

Great location with, amazing views and exceptionally clean.

It's a very tradtional French hotel, and the one evening meal we had at the hotel was absolutely excellent. The ski bus stop is right outside, so very convenient.

But, the hotel really shouldn't be advertising 'free wifi in all areas' - that's simply not true, the routers aren't fully connected up, and we had a partial refund because of that (I had work to do, and had chosen the hotel on that basis).

Wifi is only available in the bar, with a limited signal in the ground floor lounge.
We would have taken more meals at the hotel if they'd displayed a dinner menu as I don't eat meat or poultry.

Helpful Staff, clean
Pros:

This is a mid range hotel up a small road. The staff are very accommodating and although it is not ski in the bus runs regularly during ski time and it is only 10 mins to the centre of town.
Breakfast is good quality and plentiful. The evening meal (optional) is reasonable priced, well presented and tasty. On the day we were served service was a bit slow. Our room was at the front but the road is quiet until the ski busses start. Pool was clean.
The décor is...French, no surprise but don't expect your multinational bland, beige and themed rooms.
Last thing if you are skiing, try going up the road not down to the super chattel. Don't go that way if you are a beginner tho'
All-in we had a great time so thanks to all the staff.

Lovely little hotel
Pros:

Lovely little hotel, if we will go back to Chatel in the future I would not stay anywhere else. The location is perfect, still very close to the town centre and all the restaurants (10 min walk) but far enough to get more peace and quiet if you want to rest. Stunning views, very clean rooms, and very important for me as I have some problems with my back, very good mattresses. We stayed here for a whole week, at the end of August. We were impressed with the attention of the staff, that you can only get from a family business. They went overboard to accommodate all our needs and wishes. We felt a little bit like royalty. They take notice to what you like, and after the first couple of days you will be surprised to be served the coffee, the tea, the water, exactly how you like them, in the same spot, at the same hours. Maybe we are creatures of habit but this was really impressive. You really need to try the home made jams at breakfast, I felt like in my grandmother's kitchen. The food is good, the attention for details is fantastic. I would definitely recommend to everyone, you can't go wrong with this hotel.

A fantastic hotel
Pros:

We had a pleasant stay in Chatel AND Les Triolets that is a very cosy and hospital AND service minded hotel. Nice restaurant with a very ambitious yet cosy atmosphere. The bus that takes you to all the best skiing stops right outside the hotel.

Charming cosy hotel with Alpine character and history and delightful owners!
Pros:

We booked here over New Year after a previous booking (via a booking website) was unexpectedly cancelled and took the last accommodation in Chatel! It turned out to be a lucky twist of fate because we discovered this fabulous little gem of a hotel. Stunned by the value, the meals were absolutely delicious and we were treated so warmly and attentively. The rooms were immaculate and cosy, with comfy beds, ensuite bathrooms with showers over and balcony with views of the whole valley. Despite checking out a day early as I got into a pickle with my dates, the owners were charming and kind and humorous at all times. The ski boot room was brilliant as was the swimming pool. The levels of cleanliness were OUTSTANDING. I was really impressed with the home made jams and marmalade at breakfast and the gluten free options available. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel - thank you for a wonderful holiday!

Authentic French Charm!
Pros:

I stayed in this hotel on a recent skiing trip and was deeply impressed given the very reasonable cost.
On my arrival there, I was greeted by the owner and her son, who were both incredibly welcoming and attentive. This high level of service was maintained throughout the week. Any requests I made, or questions asked were met with a smile and an eagerness to please.
The hotel itself is delightful and traditionally constructed. It lies about 400 metres outside the town centre which made it much quieter in the evenings. It also meant that some striking, unobstructed views were afforded across the valley to the mountains beyond from bedroom balcony. The ski bus also stops directly outside!
Unusually for such a hotel, Les Triolets has a clean and very warm pool, as well as a sauna and heated ski equipment room.
In summary. A fantastic family run hotel with good facilities and great service. The food is pretty good too!

You get a lot for your money
Pros:

Very strongly recommended, very friendly with a madame who loves to talk -in French- to her residents, very warm reception. The food is excellent, the service is spot-on and plus there is an indoor swimming pool!Must be one of the best value for money hotels in the French Alps, the situation is just on the edge of the Chatel so you are just a little bit out of the hubbub but it didn't bother us.Slight criticism: no communal area apart from the bar and the log fire remained unlit the whole week we were there -in February- and plus there is no lift but don't let that put you off choose this place and you wikll not be disappointed.
