El Caucho

Nightmare! Where do i start.
1st of all , hotel is under new ownership, some italians, not really friendly and don’t speak English or Spanish ( very well) . Its not even called El Caucho anymore... is Luismart or something like that. When you try to find it with google maps from expedia app it takes you to wrong spot. Had to ask locals.
Reserved this place for 6 nights through expedia as i wanted to check out the boca chica area. Doesnt accept credit/ debit card.
There is no restaurant open as advertised, since new ownership took place . Having a restaurant on site was a reason i chose the place, and pool. Pool was filthy. We used it a couple days but they dont run the filter on it.
Don’t believe the photos advertised, the nice rooms pictured are of the rooms the owners and couple staff live in, not rooms you get when you rent. You get small two or one room run down closet size apartment that a uncomfortable tiny double bed barely fits in and are run down. Air conditioner in room made awful noise every five minutes so made it hard to sleep on and already uncomfortable small bed.
Could only put up with it and girlfriend and and I decided to check out on day 3 as she had relatives coming to santo domingo, but the owner made me pay for all six day and not just the 3 days we were actually there. He was an arrogant jerk. Dont waste your money on this place. Its not as advertised. Also don’t expected a friendly free cup of coffee in the morning like most hotels.

I thought the price will reflect the condition but i was wrong, its a great place. The hot water is amazing, the ppl here are so nice, they try to help with everything. The store, medical center, and places to eat are literally across the street. Im coming back here every time i came to DR

I love this hotel, because all of the staff is very kind, receptive and cooperative, especially Luigi, Scarlet and the Security staff. When I visit Dominican Republic, almost always I stay in this hotel that is very close to the beach Boca Chica. Thanks to Hotel El Caucho!

Not good. Would not recommend. Conditions of the building is very poor and the place is very noisy.

Stayed 5 days. The pool is nice and clean. No limit on hours open. Good secure parking. One of the few places not an expensive hotel that has hot and cold water good water pressure. I did have to ask several times for more toilet paper or a room clean . Good breakfasts included. $35 a night good deal for my reasons mentioned if you don’t need a pool. They’re are cheaper places just as decent. But this stay the pool was used every day. I would stay here again another trip
