The room was lovely, very spacious, clean and tidy. There was a young man we spoke to when we first got there, he was lovely and showed us our room. I was surprised with the room with how nice it was, as I've stayed a couple of times before, and the rooms weren't that nice. Breakfast is included in the price which is good value for money. The grounds are lovely, some wear and tear with age, but that's to be expected. Close to the lovely Lunan beach, which is exceptional and a must see.
There were some areas of the hotel which was dark and dingy, old carpets etc. The shower room in the hotel room wasn't the nicest.
We got there about 3.30-4pm, went to the beach for a bit after check in, came back for dinner. There was no menu for selection or prices. The young man told us our options. I said, would he like me to pay just now, he said no, I'll just put it on to your room. I didn't know how much it would be, would have been nice to be given the option how you would like to pay and how much.
Anyway, got our food, the garlic bread, nan bread, chips were so hard, like they have been over cooked or laying around. The macaroni and chicken korma tasted alright.
After dinner, we went back down to the beach, then had an early night. Both of us had been feeling great until this point. When my daughter woke early in the morning complaining of a sore stomach. She sat up at the side of the bed and was sick, was mainly fluid, all over her pjs, and some went on the bed sheets at the side. I stripped the bed (like I always do at the end of a hotel stay). I rinsed the sick from the sheets with hot soapy water and put all the sheets together ready for the washing machine. We ended up leaving Lunan hotel, and tavelled back home 2 1/5 hours. When we got home, we both had diarrhea.
I'm now wondering if it has been the food at the hotel that made my 7 year old daughter sick and gave us both diarrhea. As we were both perfectly fine until we got to the hotel, and the only other place we went to was a walk down to the beach.
Later that night, after we got home, an invoice of £50 was sent via Booking.com( no mention of what the £50 was for), and money was taken from my bank account. I sent Lunan Hotel a message directly and via Booking.com to ask if this was for the sheets that I had rinsed as my daughter had been sick (the sheets only needed the washing machine). I have had no reply from Lunan Hotel, just ignored.

The room we had was hot as it was sun facing (not the hotel’s fault) and our window couldn’t be opened very far because of railings. We did have a fan though which helped.
Staff were amazing, especially Michael.He went above and beyond nothing was too much trouble .Thank you to all your staff for saving the day .There was a fabulous cafe near the beach and you were 3 mins walk from the beach.
Maybe have a wee bit more of a range of vegetarian meals 😋 but not a massive problem.Nothing could be remotely a problem in such a beautiful place .
Love it a real chill out place and really dog friendly. We keep coming back we love the location and the grounds are beautiful

The restaurant lacked atmosphere and the bar closed very early.
lovely location not far from the beach had lovely gardens and plenty of parking. Property was clean and comfortable and had a dining room for meals and breakfast and a reception and bar area. The double room was a reasonable size with a very comfy bed. A small ensuite was in the room, compact but clean and tidy with a nice shower (albeit a rain shower). We managed to book the property for a lot less than it is normally priced at and I was very happy with the Hotel.
It's not a didn't like, it's an observation. This is a lovely hotel only 2 things let it down 1 is the colour of the doors (they show up all the knocks/scratches caused by constantly being hit by peoples luggage ect) and the slightly peeling wallpaper. Wouldn't stop me from going again though. The 2nd is the food, although good, I was expecting a more of a restaurant style menu, again wouldn't stop me from going again.

Schöne Unterkunft mit super Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Das inbegriffene Frühstück war auch sehr gut.
Es gab auch Abendessen bis 19:00 Uhr, unsere Bestellung wurde aber grosszügigerweise auch noch um 19:05 Uhr entgegen genommen.
In Gehdistanz schöner Strand und Ruine vorhanden.
Wir hatten ein Zweibettzimmer gebucht. Dies bestand im Endeffekt aus einem Queensize Bett und einem Klappbett, welches wir leider aber nicht nutzen konnten, da es einen sehr unbequemen Spalt in der Mitte hatte. Das positive daran war aber das jeder seine eigene Decke hatte.
Boden im Schlafzimmer war sandig, mit Hausschuhen aber gut machbar.
Close to beach, staff great, garden pretty.
