Fantastic and unique property far up in the romantic hills
Signage could have been better. Good thing the host was used to people getting a bit lost and she came to find us
Accoglienza e gentilezza al top. Ottima colazione. Posto incantevole
We loved staying at the Residenza d'Epoca Borgodifiume. Mariateresa is a very welcoming and friendly host. Our dinner at the Convivio was exceptional. We would love to come back and will definitely recommend it!
Amazing, spacious, well appointed 15th century lodging. Like a dream. Spectacular view of the sea from our balcony. Wonderful breakfast room, food and service. Maria Teresa welcomed us graciously. She arranged transportation for us to and from the train in a town 10 miles away, as we as for our visit to a nearby town where my mother was born. She, and the driver she arranged, Luigi, made our stay memorable.
We had a wonderful stay. The property is stunning! Maria Teresa was extremely helpful and kind. The restaurant (Con Vivo) run by the same owners was also excellent!
Colazione buona. Servita in ampio locale con terrazza

We had a perfect stay at Residenza d’epoca Borgodifiume. We loved our Rooms in the old building and had wonderfull dinner in restaurant ConVivio. Maria Teresa was a very helpfull and attendent host.
We had the most wonderful stay! Maria Teresa is so kind and very helpful. You will receive a warm welcome from her, your lovely host. This was an incredible and unique experience in such a lovely old castle and friendly village. I can't wait to come back and bring more people with me to experience the same. Amazing experience and Excellent stay!
This is a hidden gem. A magic medieval village on a hill with a stunning view. The b&b is in a castle-like building beautifully renovated for a luxurus stay. Romantic, cozy and breathtaking surroundings.
Host is super caring, welcoming and flexible. She also has a restaurant next door with fantastic local genuin food. This has been one of my best stays ever. I recommend it to everyone!
On the plus side, the property, location and views were fantastic. Our room was large and full of character and it wasn't expensive.
On the negative side, the breakfasts were a bit disappointing compared to other places we stayed, especially the first one where all the bread was stale. We found the host efficient, and willing to book restaurants for us, but not particularly welcoming or friendly. Our room had very little storage for our clothes so we ended up living out of our suitcases. There was only 1 pillow each. The bathroom had nowhere to hang your towels. We also got bitten by mosquitos in the room.
Mary Teresa is the most charming host and so full of energy. The building is a magical castle with a fantastic rooftop terrace and you have to eat at Mary Teresa’s restaurant- Il Convivio, amazing food and local wines just steps away.
An amazing place it was like staying in an old castle with the thick stone walls. The room and bathroom were very large.Views from our bedroom were stunning looking out to sea.It was quiet surprisingly (often you hear other guests in old places ) and very peaceful.Bed was very comfortable and plenty of hot water in good shower.Breakfast catered also for us non sweet eaters with fruit, great juices, eggs, yoghurt and brown bread. You were able to come up to kitchen during day to make tea and coffee.Great selection of books, mostly Italian though.Parking was not too far and wasn't busy.
Not having a kettle in room for tea but walking up to kitchen wasn't a big deal.We had an old mini bar fridge in our room and I didn't realise it was just a feature and put food in that we were travelling with.......I could have used large kitchen fridge if I'd realised.Finding the place was tricky but we just stopped and asked a local who looked after us very well.
Everything about this stay was perfect - we can't recommend it enough. Maria Teresa was so welcoming. Our room and the hotel was out of this world in an old but beautifully refurbished property. Our bed was huge and so comfortable. We ate at Maria Teresa's restaurant and it was the best food we've ever eaten in Italy - all Calabrian specialities. Breakfast was superb with a really good selection of local juices, jams and panettone. The village of Fiumefreddo is stunning with views out over the Tyrinnean sea and winding atmospheric streets to explore. So highly recommended and do stay more than one night!

Breakfast was one of the best we’ve had in southern Italy the hostess, Maria Teresa went out of her way to accommodate us and made us feel super welcomed.
I can’t think of anything negative to say about our experience at Residenza d’Epoca
