Recommend for whoever doesn’t mind walking and exploring! Start with the templo right next door!
Pros:

Pretty much everything! Room is tiny but I guess it’s expected for Japan.

Cons:

It got really hot on our last morning there and the sun comes through right in the bedroom which isn’t a bad thing but the air con didn’t really work.

Nice view for a small comfort.
Pros:

Location and the view from the room on 4 th floor on Kenn inn ghi temple. Very helpfull personnel.

Cons:

The room has almost no space for any kind of clothes or personal things. Not even simple hangers for out door wear. The open wardrobe is so narrow that 3 hangers are jamming clothes.

Excellent choice in great location
Pros:

Pros:

Cons:

There is no wardrobe in the room, so there is nowhere to store clothes from your suitcase.

Great option if you want to explore Gion.
Pros:

Loved the location in Gion-walk to station, markets, shops, temples, restaurants and gorgeous lanes with traditional housing. Staff were wonderful.

Cons:

Street noise at night. We needed the window open for fresh air but cars, taxis and people walking past are right outside the window. Very expensive in cherry blossom season.

It was decent but very basic
Pros:

The location was very central and convenient and the staff were helpful and friendly.

Cons:

The room was way too small for two people with suitcases. Also they still have awkward room keys when almost all hotels in the world have upgraded to cards, and check-out was as early as 10am when most places give you at least until 11am.

Compact hotel with a great location, moldy bathroom
Pros:

great location

Cons:

I got pretty sick while I was staying here. Symptoms would worsen when I was in the hotel room. I noticed mold on the shower curtains which could’ve been the reason

Would stay here again and again.
Pros:

The location is amazing, the view from Room 301 is beautiful and the room was nice and comfortable. Staff was also really friendly and helpful.

I would definitely stay here again.

always a pleasure. love the staff.
Pros:

cannot beat the location and the staff is fabulous.

Cons:

beds were so small (i'm 90 lbs and my husband is 120 &6' tall -we're tiny) we couldn't fit on one twin bed comfortably so had to sleep on separate beds. but that's fine.
