Charming old inn in a beautiful location.
Nothing really, however it’s a tight squeeze to drive into the car park.
Friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable bed with quality duvet and pillows. Very good evening meal and breakfast was good too.
The music played at breakfast was far too loud and not suitable. I wouldn't play it at home. If music must be played choose instrumental.
Bedroom was a little chilly (weather was wet and below average for time of year) and we could not turn on the radiator without asking the staff to boost it from another source.
The location and the food
We was supposed to stay two night but there was bed bugs and flees. I’m 5 months pregnant and when I went to talk about it one of the woman said I’ll change the sheets :| the room needs flee bombing we was then offered to change rooms but at that point my partner fell ill and I was covered in bites and rashes I wasn’t even refunded for the one night we actually stayed I’ve never wanted to get home from somewhere so bad in my life
Breakfast was superb! The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Lovely rooms with nice ensuite.
The evening menu was small and so were the portion sizes. Quite pricey.
Also I am not sure if all the rooms allow dogs, but there was dog hair which is expected. But as someone who doesn't take their dog to a hotel, I would prefer the option of a non dog room as the cleanliness wasn't great. This was the only downfall.
Excellent room; coffee bags, fresh milk and even home-baked cookies with a personal message from the team. Little touches like that make a huge difference. Lovely large shower, and bathroom. Super comfy bed, and a nice temperature.
Would have been fab if had a bath - some rooms did I gather. But a minor point and doesn’t detract from the overall experience.
A real treat, very comfortable and curry night was delicious.
Food and service inside hotel very good. Outside service nil.
Disabled and climbing upstairs to the top floor.
Very comfortable room. Staff went above and beyond to bring us an extra chair so that we could both attend a zoom meeting. Dinner very good as always, as was breakfast. Warm welcome.
All of it. The staff were amazing
The bed, bedroom and bathroom were perfect. Good safe spot for our bicycles.
Great location, good staff, nice room. Hotel very helpful in changing room dates at short notice. Dinner menu good, wine see below...
The wine list with dinner is unusual. While its good to see some wines that you dont normally come across it would be nice to have a few staples like a good reasonably priced chardonnay, vioginer, gavi etc
The Black Bull Inn is idyllically and at the same time centrally located, very charming with its original architecture and design, has a fabulous cuisine, and staff that goes above and beyond to make their guests welcome and comfortable.

Lovely room, bed, linen, food, staff.
I prefer an enclosed loo.
the stair case
For £150.00 without breakfast ,very disappointed and underwhelmd, wires hanging out of the tv it just felt unfinished .the tea cups are designer, appreciated however the sainnd pattern on the rim was not .. lots of potential
