We stayed here for 6 nights. Expedia listed this place as having laundry however it did not. I brought this up to Indy House and they told it was a mistake in the listing and told me where I could find the nearest laundry mat. Laundry was one of the reasons chose this place, I could have stayed in a hotel with cleaning service (as they didn't do it) or a multitude of other places. So I am not satisfied with the property for that reason and no compensation was offered due to the inconvenience and discrepancy in the listing.
The place itself is kitschy. Our room was small but had a nice balcony although there was a strip of sticky stuff on it and the it didn't looked like it had been washed. All the floors squeak so you always hear the people walking above you. The shower was very tiny (we aren't large people). I will say that the cleaning staff were very friendly when I asked for change of towels and tp.
The neighborhood has a more ethnic feel with Nepalese/Indian restaurants being prominent in the area.
If I were staying 2 nights it would have been fine but as I was staying 6 and the amenities that were listed in expedia were not there it didn't meet expectation.
Would I stay here again? No.
The outdoor space is gorgeous, the location is very central and the room was so clean! Check-in is super easy and I really loved this place. Would definitely recommend.
The Indy has done a good job of providing modern accommodations while keeping the old-world charm of the original building. The location is close to the Intendente station and there are a number of really good cafe's and restaurants in the area
It was a clean, quiet and cozy room we stayed in for 6 nights. It was a walking distance to metro, supermarket and restaurants. However, it would be great if we could have a basic appliance such as an electric kettle for tea/ coffee, so we could start the day and end our evening more pleasantly without being have to go shopping for it every single time we needed one.
The air conditioner was broken and would only heat up the room, even though the listing said that there is an AC. Additionally, the room is tiny and quite loud, you can hear everything outside of the room, upstairs, and next door. The area itself is okay, there’s a Lidl within walking distance but at night the surrounding area feels quite unsafe. The rooms are tiny, to the point that two small carry on luggages just barely fit inside. This hotel also has no staff, you can only message via WhatsApp. For the price, I’d say it’s not worth it, you should spend a bit extra to go somewhere closer to the tourist area.
L'envoi des code d'accès se fait trop tard. On a dû attendre à la porte. Un peu de difficulté à joindre un responsable. L'emplacement est près de tout et des transport en commun. Propre mais la chambre est très petite ainsi que la salle de bain. Espace cuisine pratique.
Funky vintage building with a lift. Location good, but if you have a rental car, parking is practically impossible in the area. Coin metered during day, resident only parking at night. Walk to city ok during the day, but we felt safer taking Uber’s back to the apartment at night. Earplugs are provide and are necessary. Lots of creeping floors as per other comments, and loud plumbing monster noises at times. Basic kitchen, but functional. Warm water, but no real hot water for a comfortable shower. We enquired about this, but doesn’t seem to be fixable. Apartment door (105) has 1/2 inch gap on side. Can see into the apt. Couch wouldn’t be very comfortable for a long stay. Heating work really well.
Nice location, effective communication. The room is nice.
However nearby buildings are ruined so quite dirty. Also I found lady's hair on the provided hand towel.
The property is excelente but no parking around too much.
The locatiom is near the center.
Area not the best
We had a wonderful stay with our 9 month old baby and six year old. Our apartment was spacious and clean, the views were wonderful and the neighbourhood was fun to walk and explore even with a stroller. Communication was great, they were helpful and kind. When people are in the stairway noise really carries but it wasn’t a problem as everyone was respectful. Thanks for a wonderful time, we wish we were there longer!
Was Goff but need some sound proof
When arriving, someone was living in the room. This caused inconvenience to find another property while sorted out foe the remaindersof the stay.
The room was clean and nice but it was kind of noisy at night because the walls are so thin and people were going in and out. It felt unsafe to me as a woman solo traveling. There is no staff in the main lobby area ever. Its more like an apartment complex or dorm than a hotel. The only thing stopping people from entering the place are two doors with a key pad and sometimes the doors don't close fully and the door could stay open. The doors directly leading to the rooms were often left open by other guests. The room itself was nice and clean but I ended up leaving after the first night because I didnt feel safe hearing the doors opening all night and knowing there was nobody monitoring at all. Not even a single security camera. Also the sinks really are tiny and difficult to use. I felt so much better when i stayed at an actual hotel.
Easy check in and good communication from the Indy Team. Room was tight and a bit if boise from other rooms (building is creaky) were only blemishes.
Quirky decor. I liked the welcome wine and snack. Located in a reasonably convenient area of town, this is a cross between a hotel and hostel. I liked the fact that there was a private bathroom but also a shared kitchen. The bathroom smelt a bit and could have been cleaner but generally, it was ok and for the price, I would stay there again.
The complimentary wine was amazing! But the room felt like more like a hostel than a hotel. Shared kitchen was a bit weird. Bathroom sink was really small so washing up in the morning was a bit of an inconvenience. The gap between the two twin size beds put together to make a full size bed, made it very uncomfortable to sleep on. Locker doors and furniture inside the room was very old, not sure if that’s because of the aesthetics of the apartment or what, but it felt like a run down apartment.
Door did not unlock when we arrived and the management did not text or answer the phone. When we finally got a hold of someone in the Porto office to help us get in our room, the sheets were already dirty. Poor communication from the management. Otherwise a cute apartment in a decent spot in Lisbon.
It is a beautiful property with a great view. It was very comfortable and secure.
