People fact place to stay in Galle Fort
Pros:

Everything about Yara Galle Fort was just perfect! The location so central and easy to walk around the fort area. The rooms were amazing, the style just beautiful, bed comply, it was quiet, clean and just beautiful. Meals were great and staff so friendly and nothing was a trouble. I had a group of 8 people and all said it was their favorite place they stayed in Sri Lanka. Thank you so much! Highly recommend it and will return with my group next year

Wonderful boutique stay!
Pros:

A beautiful, quiet and peaceful place to stay in this gorgeous city. Close to all the sights of Galle Fort.
Staff were friendly and helpful, breakfasts were delicious, and our room was just lovely! Thank you Yara for a really wonderful stay.

Be aware!!!!!!!

Perfect place in the old town. Good breakfast.

Cons:

I had booked 3 nights, I rebooked to 2 nights no problem. When I check out they try and charge me for 3nights????? I tell them I only stayed 2nights……. Then they say ” Ohh sorry ” Sad that they treat their customers as walking ATM:s……🤨

we loved this place and would recommend it to anyone!
Pros:

the property is so full of character, yet manages to provide accommodation that is equivalent, or better, than many hotel chains. The setting around the courtyard was stunning and was close to the Fort itself and the shops/restaurants in the area. The evening we had a meal at the property we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of that also.

Cons:

the torrential rain that arrived on our first night 😂

Nice hotel, recommend against the duplex suite room
Pros:

Nice hotel, location and breakfast. However, would recommend against the duplex suite room as the windows and door open onto the restaurant, which is noisy during breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Quiet oasis
Pros:

Very peaceful place with a quiet courtyard and a generous and tasty Sri. Lankan breakfast. Staff is kind and helpful. Manager also very kind and helpful.

I stayed in the Yara from the 25th to the 28th February. I really enjoyed it, highlights for me:
Very friendly and helpful staff
Clean
Nice decor
Nice food
Good location, 300m from the best spot to watch the sunset

It is located close to the entrance to the Galle Fort. This means that you have a 5 minute walk (at the most) to the main shopping/restaurant area. I preferred that location because it felt more open and pleasant. Sitting in the outdoor lounge area at the front of the hotel was a pleasure.
The general manager Mr Lakshyan was particularly pleasant and helpful which made me feel very comfortable, especially since I was a solo female traveller. Thank you again. Eleanor
