Pros:

The evening meal was especially nice. Breakfast ok.
We did have a parking space which I was grateful for as the car park seemed to be very busy.
Bathroom was very modern and to our liking.
Lovely surroundings but weather was appalling.

Cons:

Slow service in general, tables not cleared away in either lounge, restaurant or breakfast room. Staff had intent personally but did not seem to be trained in process and customer care. Mostly in restaurant.
Reception staff need a personality check overall, with some enthusiasm and knowledge of the area, when asked for the easiest walk to the cathedral…………:.? Room was ok but for £94 it was ok……. But TV did not work. It needed some kind of application acceptance from LG. Asked reception to sort they said they would and confirmed similar issues were happening in the hotel. Came back to our room same issue. Gave up.
Lastly honest. We were at the front of the hotel, so I’m giving a bit of leeway here, guys the window frames were filthy, I mean ingrained not cleaned dirty. Get someone to sort please.
BTW this is just me I’ve not my wife’s additions otherwise this commentary could be a lot longer

Pros:

Relatively nice location and building.

Cons:

The food provision is poor. The bar menu is the only menu available also in the restaurant and for a 4* star hotel is not acceptable. The menu was very mixed and unexciting. There was also no heating in the bedroom or common areas during our visit.

Pros:

Have stayed here before but not since the refurbishment. Looks incredible. The room was lovely with a very clean and modern bathroom. Incredible view. The food and drink prices are very reasonable.

Cons:

Everything was lovely. Time at the bar was called early but it was a Tuesday!

Nice old hotel, great staff quality of the food questionable.
Pros:

The staff especially the bar staff were fantastic

Cons:

The food was quite bland , not seasoned etc
Breakfast on our second day had to be sent back as it was cold and the bacon was very overcooked.
Both evening meals were average but the lunch we had was great ?Nice

Sehr komfortable Ausstattung des sehr preisgünstigen Zimmers, aussergewöhnlich mit Liebe zum Detail. Wir waren so angetan vom positiven Gesamteindruck, dass wir uns entgegen der ursprünglichen Planung doch noch für ein Frühstück entschieden haben, und das war ebenfalls ohne Abstriche hervorragend.

Nice hotel, dirty room . The reception the next morning was exceptionally polite and apologetic

The room wasn’t cleaned properly . We had to wait ten minutes before anybody acknowledged us for checking in ! The coffee machine didn’t work as it hadn’t been emptied
