Great place with amazing food options
Restaurant spaces and dining areas are attractive, overnight guest experience is another story
I had a confirmed reservation booked more than nine months in advance for ETH Denver. This would have been my fourth consecutive year staying at The Source Hotel during the conference.
Upon arrival, front desk staff initially refused to honor the reservation and repeatedly stated it had been “cancelled,” despite the reservation still showing as confirmed in my Booking.com account that same morning. Staff also attempted to charge me a higher rate than the confirmed price. It took hours of my time during professional conference events simply to resolve the check-in issue and have the original reservation honored.
After finally being checked in, the room had constant noise disturbances including loud racing-type sounds from the parking garage, persistent beeping outside the building, and mechanical noise that made it difficult to sleep.
When I raised these concerns and requested a reasonable room change, the General Manager terminated my stay and required me to leave.
The property assured me I would only be charged for the first night and issued a folio reflecting a $172.55 charge (room, parking, taxes, and fees). However, more than two weeks later the full $931.08 authorization from the hotel is still pending with my bank. My bank advised that the merchant must release or clear the authorization for the funds to be returned.
I liked the location, free parking, and the restaurant and businesses at the Source all connected to the hotel.
Heading to room, there was a horrible smell in the fifth floor hallway, which was pretty disorienting walking off the elevator. I asked a housekeeper at the end of my stay what that smell was because it lingered into the next day. I also emailed the hotel about it and no one ever provided me with a response which felt very off-putting.
Staff was very pleasant and friendly and professional
Lots of form over function at this property. The shower head took lots of water to figure out, the light switches were very confusing, the coffee machine didn’t work. The bathroom had very little counter space. (With the coffee machine, maybe I did something wrong but I don’t think so.) Regardless, these are the basic things that should be more about comfort and less about hipness and style.
Spacious rooms, good restaurants/eateries on site.
Has a well equipped gym.
Very handy for RiNo and access to main highways. Plus not far from the centre.
Very stark and functional decor.
There is no in-house breakfast, though there is a coffee bar and an excellent bakery - some days.
The shower was good and bed was pretty comfortable.
Felt pretentious and overpriced for what it actually was.
The hallway smelled like sewage, but the rooms were clean and OK
What an amazing place with restaurants, the market.
