Fantastic hotel and location - perfect for exploring Bath. Rooms were lovely and very big.
Could hear people walking around in the room above ours - was very noisy first thing in the morning.
Great location. Spotlessly clean. Comfortable bed. Extremely friendly staff. Lovely honesty bar. Good breakfast.
Great location. Friendly staff.
Was able to leave our luggage after checking out so we could enjoy our day in Bath.
All good.
Location, style and comfort
The noise! Our room was located in the ground floor and you could hear the front door but it wasn’t too much of a problem. There was nothing else wrong
Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff and the room was perfect.
Nothing.
Great location. Decent room size and friendly staff.
Lower ground floor room which was humid and suffered from a lot of noise of people leaving and entering the building.
I booked hotel 8 as I loved the location. Down a cute little alley way next to a few shops.
When I got the check in details, I found out that we were actually put in their other building which is around the corner. Granted, it literally is round the smallest of corners but initially I was frustrated because I’d booked the location specifically. However the other hotel which is about 60 meters away is just stunning. It is beautiful. The bed was big and comfortable, which a wonderful bath in the middle of the room and a stunning bathroom. The tea table and seating area in the room is also lovely and just what you need when you’ve been marching round the city.
Honestly, this other location was just as wonderful. It’s situated in a little courtyard type area with a huge tree in the middle which is spectacular! The receptionist we spoke to was helpful and gave good instructions on how to get to the new location. If you wanted breakfast with the hotel, you had to make the short walk round the corner as the new location just has rooms. The same applies if you wanted to grab a drink from the bar - out you go round the corner. We didn’t use these facilities so can’t comment but just leaving this here for others to read so they know what to expect.
There was one downsides to this hotel which heavily disrupted our stay. Noise. Noise and more noise. I gather because of the style or age of the property there isn’t much reno work that can be done to help sound proof. Every night we could hear the front doors slamming and banging shut every time someone came in or out. These big heavy doors made us feel safe but my god they’re loud! And then the room directly above was an issue. Every footstep made or case being moved it could be heard so clearly from our room. If we’d been there more than two nights I’d have asked to swap rooms. And then there’s the groups of people that stumble past the window through the early hours. We could literally hear conversations through the window. Far worse when people were drunk and singing and dancing! Although it was somewhat entertaining.
I’m really torn with my stay in Bath because on a visual and location base alone this hotel is 10/10. The sounds people were making inside and outside aren’t the hotels fault exactly but the sheer amount of noise that got in to the room made it a difficult sleep.
The location and the cleanliness of the rooms. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable.
We couldn’t stay for longer!
Great location and friendly staff
Beautiful decor very fitting for the property. Staff were very helpful and welcoming.
Slightly noisy at times but expected due to age of property!
Beautiful, boutique hotel in a prime Bath location.
It was quite noisy at night time due to the location and the Christmas Market crowds. Not the fault of the hotel, but there were people singing and shouting at 4am
The staff were really polite, welcoming and helpful. The hotel is split into 2 buildings, we were in the courtyard section which we absolutely loved! It’s in a really central location and only a 5 minute walk from the train station. The room was beautifully decorated and very clean. Even the entrance smelled lovely as soon as you walked through the door. I would definitely stay here again!
There wasn’t anything we didn’t like
