we had a very satisfactory stay - would go back as very convenient for city centre

Cons:

The view from the room was not pleasant but unavoidable - also very difficult to get through doors to room on first floor - crossing entrance to carpark - very stiff and awkward

Otherwise great hotel been in many times - absolutely spoilt by crazy room temps & no aircon

We've stayed at Sandman hotels in Glasgow, Aberdeen and Newcastle many times before. Generally very good hotels. But this time, the lack of any cooling in the hotel room (despite the weather being mild...) made for essentially two unbearably hot nights. aircon is needed

Cons:

Lack of cooling. No aircon - in a modern hotel only a few years in Sandman's ownership. Air temp was NOT warm (am semi-local all my life) and staff bizarrely saying it was due to hot (..) weather and granite stone was foundless. Two unbearably warm nights. Fans on, window open, no difference (staff bizarrely suggested putting an ice bucket in front of a fan - which obviously didn't work. In 2026..)

Disappointing. Not good value.
Pros:

Big rooms. Very high ceilings. Allocated our rooms next to one another.

Cons:

We arrived on a Friday for 3 nights. We'd been on holidays at that point for 9 days and we had laundry that needed to be done, but we were told that there was no weekend laundry service available. We had to go shopping!

The breakfast that was included in our room rate was unappetizing. The fried eggs looked like they'd been under the lights for days. There was no fresh alacarte option. They could not make us a coffee with alternate Milks.

There was no hair conditioner in the bathroom. Add no air conditioning. The windows were so high as to provide no view. The bedside flights and testing lights were not functioning.
