Pros:

The staff was so kind and helpful. We left something in our room and the housekeeper ran after us to our car as we were pulling out to return it to us. Dinner and breakfast was delicious.

Pros:

Selten haben wir ein so tolles Hotel gehabt, vom Check-In bis zur Abreise war der Service Perfekt und stehts aufmerksam. Frühstück und abends essen im Restaurant war ein Genuss. Ein Hotel und Restaurant welches jeden Wunsch von den Augen liest und erfüllt.

Tolle Zimmer, aber teilweise sehr unfreundlich!

Das Hotel an sich, genau wie das Dorf, sind wunderschön.
Die Zimmer durchdacht eingerichtet und die modernen Bilder sind eine Augenweide.
Der Check-in war super. Die Dame vom front desk sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Leider gab es ein unschönes Erlebnis beim Frühstück.
Die Hafermilch, die mir auf Nachfrage gereicht wurde, war sauer!
Die Mitarbeiterin hat sich dafür entschuldigt und eine neue Packung aufgemacht.
So was darf meiner Meinung nach in einem solchen Haus nicht passieren. Ich trinke nur Hafermilch und selbst wenn diese mehrere Wochen offen im Kühlschrank steht, ist die bei mir noch nie schlecht geworden. Dementsprechend angeekelt war ich, dass mir schlechte Hafermilch gereicht wurde.
Beim Checkout habe ich es noch einmal ganz freundlich und sachlich angesprochen und wurde daraufhin von der Mitarbeiterin sehr rüde angefahren und angepamt.
Das geht gar nicht! Auf so einer Position muss man immer ruhig und freundlich bleiben, erst Recht wenn der Gast es ist und nur noch das Bedürfnis hat, einen unschönen Umstand anzusprechen.
Dieses Erlebnis hat den Aufenthalt leider negativ behaftet.

Beautiful hotel and town. Everyone was super helpful and friendly. The beds were comfy and the hotel was immaculate. We had fantastic meals at Hotel Engel. Our dinner was the best of our trip! Breakfast was delicious as well.

Those fab places still exist ……… you have to visit !

They still exist. Those family run, top quality, with love to detail, proud of their work places. Engel in Sasbachwalden is one of those places. It is my 2nd time here. Despite being here for business, I enjoyed the local Black Forest atmosphere. Sasbachwalden and the Hotel Engel are perfectly located at the “entrance” to the amazing Black Forest. I guess the hotel has around 20 rooms, a fab restaurant and a breakfast that is so far ahead in quality of what you get in those big hotel boxes. The owner is the chef, was checking us in and suggested to stay for dinner. What a great choice. Top quality, nice wines and amazing service. The rooms are nice, some have balcony’s and they are designed with the traveler in mind. Wish I could give 10 points, Engel would deserve it. I will be back next week, for staying and entertaining customers. Already looking forward to it.

Ein kleines Hotel was sehr zu empfehlen ist. Super freundliches und aufmerksames Personal. Unser Zimmer befand sich im 2. Stock und war sehr komfortabel, vorallem das Bad war mega groß die Dusche ein Traum. Das Frühstück war sehr reichlich, Wurst, Käse, Obst, Eier in allen Varianten frisch zubereitet. Es gab auch Quark und Johgurt. Das Abendessen war ein kulinarischer Genuss. Alles in allem ist das Hotel Engel sehr zu empfehlen. Sollten wir nochmal Urlaub in der Region machen wäre es unsere 1. Wahl.

Schönes Hotel und neu renoviert.
Pros:

Das Zimmer befand sich auf der Strassenseite, wenn Fenster offen, nicht so angenehm.
3 Stock ziemlich eng und ohne Lift. Die Zimmer sind renoviert und sehr schön, für grosse Gäste, nicht zu empfehlen. Da Dachschräge über dem Bett, darum die mittelmässige Bewertung.

We stay at hotel Engel for two nights…and wanted to stay more nights !
This is an amazing gem in Sasbachwalden, where you will receive friendly and attentive service from some amazing staff…a service rarely seen in Europe! (And we travel a lot). The food is really great, both breakfast and dinner, and can be highly recommended too. The building is pure german charm and our room was absolutely amazing with a nice terrasse.
This is a must-vist gem and we will fore sure be back next year!
