No food for me next time
Pros:

Everything was great! I loved the experience of staying at a ryokan, the hospitality was amazing and the facilities were top notch.

Cons:

The food was simply not for me, but now I know that next time I’m not booking the room with breakfast and dinner included.

The Food was Delightful and staff were Exceptional

Wonderful hotel with great amenities and a beautiful room.
Pros:

Such a beautiful hotel. Wonderful, spacious, elegant room. Staff was nice. Lobby was gorgeous and relaxing. The rooftop onsen was amazing.

First Class Service from Lovely Japanese staff
Pros:

The hotel staff were exceptionally welcoming and polite it was delightful to meet them. They all went an extra mile to make our stay comfortable and happy. For example it was my wife’s birthday and they presented her with a bamboo chocolate cake after we had a fabulous Japanese dinner. The waiting staff were lovely! We were also so grateful to the gentleman that on arrival that had taken photographs under their blossom tree and on departure the same person filled out our Yamato forms to foward on our luggage to our hotel in Tokyo! 👏All the staff were charming, hard working and supportive. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Wonderful experience! Everyone we encountered was pleasant, professional, helpful and just fantastic. Rooms are beautiful as is every inch of the property! Loved our stay and will definitely go back!

Excellent in every way but pest control was a dealbreaker
Pros:

I love the Japanese style breastfast. Even my kids enjoyed it. They were also super impressed by the Japanese style bathroom and had a blast. The location is super convenient to visit Kiyomizu temple anytime. The staff was polite and attentative.

Cons:

The stay could have been perfect BUT we saw a cockroach. It was in the middle of the tatami area when the light went up, then disappeared into the closet instantly. It gave my daughter a nerve wrack and she got anxious for the rest of night. It was her first time to ever see a cockroach. I was not that emotional but I had to be extra careful while packing so we wouldn't leave with unwanted guests. The staff didn't even seem surprised when I report about the cockroach. I guess they get used to live with them.
