I had a wonderful stay and truly can’t say enough good things about this hotel. From the moment I arrived, the owner Shawn made me feel welcome with his warm, personal approach. He was incredibly helpful throughout my visit, going above and beyond to ensure everything was just right. What really impressed me was how he genuinely cared for his staff—you could see the mutual respect and the supportive environment he’s created. It made my experience feel not just comfortable, but also meaningful. Shout out to Soso the bartender for keeping this one chatty drunk entertained.
The bathroom was smaller than I am used to but was a pretty minor inconvenience.

Staff (woman) she didn’t even look at us while we returned room key and checked out. Her attitude was unacceptable. I didn’t like only her!
This is a nice little Hotel. The owner is new and went above and beyond to make sure everything was ok. The breakfast was Great and the bread is made on site and is fantastic. And you can't beat the price. I highly recommend this place

Our family of four loved our stay at River Retreat - room was comfortable and spacious for a very reasonable price. We especially enjoyed the pool and relaxing in the leafy outdoor spaces. A great location out of the hustle bustle of central Siem Reap, but within walking distance to
plenty of tasty riverside eats. Many thanks to Ena for organising onward travel to the Thai border.

Cannot think of anything to dislike some people might not like the location because it's away from the main tourist area, but I enjoyed every tuk tuk ride that I had into the main areas
Great hotel, located in a quet street between the busy center (5 min by tuk-tuk) and Angkor Wat (15 min by tuk-tuk).

Located 2 kilometers from the center of Siem Reap, what brings You some calmness, but still allows You to quickly get to the city center. Rooms in the ground floor are very spacious. Personell is helpful and there is always someone available 24h. They speak English. Nice chill area with a pool. Very good quality to price ratio.
Rooms on the 1st floor are quite small, Room, we had on a ground floor is spacious, but definetely needs some refreshments (repainting, bathroom renovation).
This is a beautiful place. I can't thank the staff enough, and am very appreciative. The rooms are spotless, nice wood, comfy beds, and a good small fridge. Restaurants all around, good street food, the National Museum nearby. Great value for your money. Yes, I'll be back.

The place was clean and have everything we need. The. Breakfast was delicious
Bed and room mattress was comfortable and the room was quiet.staff were friendly and seemed to be learning
The fact that the hotels own website shows it has a restaurant and serves lunch and dinner
But this is not the case they have no restaurant but somehow make breakfast at $7.00 usd
When i asked about a coffee in the morning , I was told the machine was broken and you had to go down the street .if you're selling breakfast, coffee should definitely be available .. As well, TV in the room while there is one it does not work at all
They also have the website of the hotel showing the amenities, and when I inquired about the restaurant, they said it's the old web site perhaps it should either be updated or taken down altogether,
Should not be showing things they do not have or cannot provide .booking.com should also adjust the list of amenities that this hotelprovides
Booked this stay last minute and feel like we hit the jackpot for this price point. Our room was on the top floor and we really enjoyed the patio up there with view overlooking the river. Positive points: very good internet, comfortable clean rooms, lovely pool and common areas and the location is excellent! We loved being on the river, it's lively enough yet quiet at night for sleeping. The bed in our room is softer than one usually finds here...we actually prefer the firmer mattresses but if you're looking for softer ones, here you go!
