Ang Tahanan ni Aling Meding Hotel

At first this place seemed kind of grotty to me, but it grew on me as the day wore on and the next morning was splendid and the view of the lake and mountain blew my mind. I would highly recommend giving it a shot

Unique

First, things that worked: The view of the lake was fantastic from my room (302). The air con worked great. The hot water heater in the shower worked fine. The Wi-Fi was strong. Breakfast was good. The people were very nice. Things that need improvement: The room is old and needs fixing. The door to the bathroom looks really bad and needs replaced. The sliding door to the balcony is peeling and needs to be fixed or replaced. The toilet and bathroom floor needs major scrubbing or tile replacement. This hotel could have a lot of potential if they just update the rooms. The views and location are great. It could also use a thorough cleaning so there won’t be tiny bugs flying around. The TV only had one channel working. I didn’t mind as much because I don’t watch TV but would have been nice to see the news. I still rated my stay as 3 stars because the air con, hot water heater and WiFi worked well. If one of those didn’t work, this would be a 1-star rating. And I probably would have left.

Lovely place

this Aling Meding hotel(house mansion) is conveniently located just beside the sampaloc lake. This is a provincial accommodation hence you wouldnt expect it to be modern. But the property needs major facelift(renovation) and tender loving maintenance. It is a bit outdated. It has no coffee and tea in the room and strangely the room doors can be locked from the outside.

Great view and location. Many street foods outside. Hotel is clean and our room is big, however they need big time renovations and upgrades.. should get more food choices for breakfast. They offered towel but old, guests should bring their own towels and toiletries. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

It's right across Sampaloc lake. You can walk around the lake for 45 minutes. Food vendors near the lake. A nice break from Tagaytay. Hotel towels need an upgrade.

From check in until check out nobody bothered to empty in room garbage cans or pick up trash in the common areas.

The bathroom was moldy and dirty and the dust was super thick.

There was chewing gum stuck on the walls and a used condom wrapper between the bed and the wall, easy to see.

The screen door was broken to the balcony, the cable TV didn’t work and there was a half roll of toilet paper.

It's back off main roads which makes it quiet. Lovely views of the lake. Staff were very very helpful with any requests. Overall really nice.

Professional staff! Always ready to help ensuring their guests’ needs are met. Our dinner from the restaurant located separate from the hotel was delivered to us warm and freshly made from their kitchen. It was delish!😋

Room was a bit older but that’s character! Our view from the balcony was amazing overlooking the late and mountains! We were welcomed by a rainbow!

The weather wasnt good that day... Dec 31, 2019 .. until January 1,2020. The rooms and all thats in the room functioned properly. Internet is A-OK. Breakfast for four included fruits which surprised my mom (papaya tasted so sweet!). Staff are all courteous and polite. My mom said we should go back one of these days <3

I had an amazing stay! The view is incredible of the lake and the volcano. I highly recommend this hotel. My only criticism would be that there was no toiletries provided to my room after the first day. There was a small plastic packet of shampoo that I had for only one day and they were not replaced. I would ask that the hotel work on providing new shampoo packets every day for their guests.

This is an older residence so if you are looking for a modern place its not it. We found it just perfect. Great staff and service. Breathtaking view of the lake and volcano. Just a few steps to the prominade walkway around the lake where morning and evening walks are relaxing.

Would love to stay here again. It would be nice to have been assigned a room in a much lower floor considering that I had my senior citizen mother with me. It was a bit of a struggle to go up & down. Good: large clean room, very helpful and friendly staff, super nice view. Needs Improvement: TV cable signal not good in all channels, sliding door in the room needs to be lubricated.
