In this 9-hour tour from Lisbon you will be driven south in comfort across the iconic 25th of April bridge through beautiful landscapes towards The Alentejo, Portugal’s largest region and maybe the wildest. A region lined by a rugged coast to the west and filled with farmland, cork oaks, vineyards, olive groves, and other crops and livestock.. You will explore Évora. Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Évora is known as a “city-museum” filled with culturally significant landmarks and it is marked with a notable history. It is also the Alentejo’s regional capital and largest city. After visiting the main attractions of Evora, you will visit a wine producing estate where you will have lunch and a wine tasting. Then it is time to see how cork is extracted and produced before heading to another estate where one of Portugal most famous brand of olive oil is produced. Time for a tasting, of course, before heading back to Lisbon revitalised.

What to expect

Explore Évora.Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Évora is known as a “city-museum” filled with culturally significant landmarks and marked with a notable history. It is also the Alentejo’s regional capital and largest city. There is plenty to see and do to fill up a day of exploring, including visiting the eerily stunning Chapel of Bones (Capela dos Ossos), snapping photos of the ancient Roman Temple, touring the Royal Palace, and enjoying a drink or coffee in the central square.

Many popular Portuguese wines come from Alentejo so from Evora we will head to nearby Vila de Frades for a wine tour/tasting and a fantastic lunch followed by a visit to a cork producing estate.

Speaking of lunch, next on the menu will be a visit to the one of the facilities of the biggest Portuguese olive oil brand where you will have an olive oil tasting. These are activities which many visitors are looking for these days. Why? Because it is something so natural and authentic in this region. Because the vineyards and olive trees have been in Alentejo for thousands of years and because the wine and the olive oil produced here is of outstanding quality.
