This is a famous temple which is an icon of Samurai culture. It once was the villa of retired shogun and was converted into a temple after his death. When you come to Kyoto, you can’t miss this site.
This site is known for geisha and if you are lucky enough, you may encounter them walking from their boarding houses to the tea houses where they perform to guests.
