Ecuador's Luxury Haciendas tour gives you the taste of the old farmland country, while exploring some of the most memorable places of the highlands.
Your journey begins with a city tour of Quito, enjoying the beauty of its views before spend the night in Hacienda Pinsaqui. The next day immerse yourself at the colorful Otavalo Indigenous Market, Cuicocha Crater Lake, and you will spend a wonderful night at Hacienda Cusin.
Discover Hacienda Zuleta, known for being owned by 2 ex-Presidents of Ecuador, and then on to Lasso and Hacienda La Cienega, that is located at the bottom of the amazing Cotopaxi volcano.
TRANSFER IN; INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT TO QUITO CITY Our Guide will meet you at the Airport, and you’ll spend the night in Quito. The hotel is located in the heart of Quito's business district and it has many facilities to make your stay very pleasant.
On your first morning, you will visit the historical center of Quito, which includes the Panecillo viewpoint, the Colonial churches from the 16th century, and Quito's main square. At mid-morning, we will enjoy a typical Ecuadorian lunch in the heart of Quito. During the afternoon, we will drive to the Imbabura Province, admiring its beauty, as we reach our hotel destination near Otavalo city.
Today, we will visit the Otavalo Indian Market, where you will have time to browse the local crafts, such as blankets, sweaters, shirts, and wall hangings made from lama and alpaca wool. You will also have time to explore the fruit & vegetable market, and to walk through the lovely and scenic town of Otavalo. Later, you will visit Cuicocha Crater Lake for a nice walk, through the Andean vegetation, to the volcano viewpoint. Afterward, we will stop in Cotacachi for lunch, and then you can visit the Leather Market, where you will find literally thousands of handmade leather items for sale. Before the day ends, you will travel to another beautiful hacienda, Cusin, where you will spend a peaceful night.
On Day 4 of the tour, you will ride for approximately 2 hours to the most beautiful hacienda in the Northern Andes, Hacienda Zuleta. After you are settled in, and have had lunch, you will take the Hacienda's House Tour, as this establishment belongs to the 16th century, and is still owned by the Plaza family, famous for having two of its family members as presidents of Ecuador. Later, you can simply rest in front of the main house's fireplace, or you can walk to the organic farm, and if you are interested, you can assist in milking the cows. Finally, you will enjoy a luscious, welcome dinner, and then you will have a serene night enjoying the Hacienda's many accomodations.
After breakfast you will travel to what is known as, the Condor's Project. Here, you will be able to admire, in person, this elegant, wild bird from the High Andes. You can travel to the Condor's Project by car or by Andalucian horse (½ hour ride). After lunch you can choose from various activities, such as hiking, walking, horseback riding, or visiting the Weaving Village.
After breakfast, you will begin your journey to Lasso, a populated area in Cotopaxi, Ecuador. Along the way, you will stop to visit a beautiful rose farm. In the afternoon, you will ride to the Hacienda La Cienega, which is located in front of the Cotopaxi Volcano, also known as the “Neck of the Moon“. You will enjoy beautiful sights and a calm night at this Hacienda.
Cotopaxi National Park consists of more than 99,000 acres, with a large variety of trails, lakes, rivers, waterfalls and, of course, the Cotopaxi Volcano, which will captivate you with its majesty and beauty. In the area of Limpiopungo lagoon, at 12,700 feet, you will find an enormous diversity of flora and fauna, and you are welcome to hike around the lagoon's shore, where native birds of the Andes are plentiful. When you leave Cotopaxi National Park, you will travel to the Staging Area, at 14,850 feet. In the Staging Area, it is often possible to admire a condor in flight. Finally, you will be transported back to Quito for your last night in Ecuador.
Today ends your tour, and you will board your plane back to your hometown destination. Thank you for spending time with us, and we hope to see you again soon.
