We will start the tour by walking through winding alleyways in the oldest part of the city, the Gothic Quarter. While the name brings us back to the medieval era, the point is that everything started a long time before, during the Roman Empire when it was given the name of "Barcino". The name actually was much longer than that, you'll be surprised when you'll learn it! We will see medieval palaces and churches, the old Jewish Quarter, the famous Barcelona's busiest market, La Boqueria, and of course, some Roman remains. Halfway of the walking tour, there will be time to relax and to taste some churros dipped into hot chocolate. After having visited the old town, we will have a lunch break in one of the best tapas restaurants in town.
Tapas time!
Stroll along Passeig de Gràcia, our Champs Elysees, and delve into the architectural beauty of Modernist Barcelona. Admire the whimsical façades of the Block of the Discord, especially Casa Batllo, which is in every sense, a work of art. Would you also like to visit the interior of Casa Batllo? Let us know in advance and we will organize it for you. The visit would take around 1h.
Amaze yourself with the wavy façade of Casa Milà aka "La Pedrera", a fantasy in stone and wrought iron. Gaudí's last building before he devoted himself entirely to the construction of La Sagrada Familia. Would you also like to visit the interior of Casa Batllo? Let us know in advance and we will organize it for you. The visit would take around 1h.
Your guide will lead you through the park describing the organic architectural approach to Gaudí's works and will share with you the history behind its construction bringing it to life. You will not be left on your own in the Park because your guide is not licensed!
As the icing on the cake, to finish the tour, the most amazing attraction in town, and for many the most beautiful church they've ever seen. Get to know about the history of the church, how and when it started, who its first architect was, yes, it was not Antoni Gaudi! Construction techniques, materials, geometry, symbolism and more will be unveiled by your private licensed guide, both outside and inside the Basilica. Our licensed tour guides will not just give you a skip line ticket for a self-guided tour with an audioguide and leave you on your own, don't get fooled!
