Breakfast and departure to Coimbra, home to one of the oldest universities in Europe and birthplace of fado. Free time
We continue to Fátima, an important pilgrimage centre. Free time to visit the Basilica and Sanctuary.
Afterwards, we proceed to Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. Accommodations. In the evening, option to attend a traditional fado performance.
Breakfast. In the morning, panoramic tour of this beautiful city, located at the mouth of the Tagus River: Park Viewpoint, Edward VII Square, Rossio Square, Liberdade Avenue, Madragoa District (where Fado, the traditional Portugues music was born). We continue on to the Belem District to see the famous Tower, Monument to the Discoveries and the Jerónimos Monastery. Afternoon at leisure. Optional excursion recommended to Sintra, Cascais, and Estoril. Accommodations.
Breakfast. Departure towards the Spanish border to arrive in Merida. Free time to explore its impressive archaeological complex, featuring the Roman Theatre and Amphitheatre, both declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Lunch at leisure
Afterwards, we continue along the “Autovía de la Plata” (Silver Route) towards Andalucia to arrive in Sevilla. Dinner and accommodations.
Breakfast. Morning city sightseeing tour, including María Luisa Park, Plaza de España, the exterior of the city’s stunning Cathedral and its bell tower, called Giralda and the typical neighborhood of Santa Cruz with its streets, squares and narrow alleys. If you wish, you can optionally navigate the Guadalquivir river, during which you will enjoy a panoramic view of the Gold Tower and Expo 92, or visit to the Maestranza bullring. Lunch at your own. Breakfast. Departure to Cordoba, at our arrival we start our walking tour starting at Almodovar Gate through the Jewish Quarter and continue for visiting the famous Mosque/Cathedral. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and accommodations.
Breakfast. Then departure to the Route of the White Villages and Ronda. Free time. Continuation to Costa del Sol. Dinner and accommodations
Breakfast. Departure to Granada. Visit to the spectacular group of monuments of the Alhambra and Generalife, former residence of the Moorish kings, with its magnificent fountains, gardens and arches. Dinner and accommodations. Optional visit to the caves of Sacromonte and attend a typical show of gipsy flamenco. * If in any case, The Patronato of the Alhambra and Generalife were not granted tickets for certain dates for the participants of the Visit, a tour of the city of Granada will be provided instead: Visit to the Palace of Carlos V, the Archaeological Museum, Church of Santa María de la Alhambra, Royal Chapel and a walk through the city Alcaiceria (silk market) and the Cathedral Square.
Breakfast and departure towards the Imperial City of Toledo, full of history and monuments. Lunch and panoramic view from Mirador del Valle and walk through it´s old town. Continuation back to Madrid. Arrival and accommodations.
