    Giant Panda Breeding Research Base (Xiongmao Jidi)

    The Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Base is located on the northern outskirts of Futou Mountain in Chengdu, 10 kilometers away from the city center. It is connected to the city center by a wide Panda Avenue and has become one of the main bases for the relocation and protection of rare and endangered wildlife such as giant pandas in China. Animals such as giant pandas, red pandas, black necked cranes, white storks and swans, black swans, geese, mandarin ducks, and peacocks are kept year-round.

    Leshan Giant Buddha (Da Fo)

    The Leshan Giant Buddha  is a 71-metre (233 ft) tall stone statue, built between 713 and 803 (during the Tang dynasty). It is carved out of a cliff face of Cretaceous red bed sandstones that lies at the confluence of the Min River and Dadu River in the southern part of Sichuan Province in China, near the city of Leshan. The stone sculpture faces Mount Emei, with the rivers flowing below its feet. It is the largest and tallest stone Buddha statue in the world and it is by far the tallest pre-modern statue in the world. It is over 4-kilometre (2.5 mi) from the Wuyou Temple.

    As one of the Four Great Buddhist Mountains in China and the ashram for Samantabhadra Bodhisattva, Mount Emei is reputed for its profound Buddhism culture and it’s the Buddhist sacred place in China. There are about 30 temples in the mountain at present, many Buddhist ceremonies are held here. Important temples are Baoguo Temple, Fuhu Temple, Qingyin Pavilion, Wannian Temple, Hongchunping, Xianfeng Temple, Xixiangchi Temple and Huazang Temple.
