Snowshoe through a silent Arctic forest under a sky full of stars, leaving Ruka lights behind you. Feel the calm of the northern night, hear the snow beneath your feet, and enjoy warm traditional berry juice at the fell summit. With luck, the Northern Lights may appear and crown the experience. Your local Finnish guide, deeply connected to this land, will share personal stories, Arctic myths, and insights into everyday life, nature, and history of the North. This small-group experience is unhurried, authentic, and designed to help you truly feel the magic of the Arctic night.

What to expect

The Night Snowshoe Adventure is a must-do Arctic experience and the true gem of northern nightlife. Step into the silent winter forest, snowshoe beneath a sky filled with stars, and feel the magic of the Arctic night. With a little luck, the Northern Lights may appear and turn the sky into a natural light show.

We’ll explore the Big Bear’s Trail in the stunning Valtavaara Nature Reserve, surrounded by snow-covered trees and open fell landscapes. At the summit, enjoy breathtaking views over the northern horizon while sipping warm traditional wild berry juice. Your guide will share captivating stories about Arctic nature, local life, and the legends and science behind the stars and Aurora.

What to expect: Beautiful northern winter and with good luck northern lights or 1000 stars.
Beginner-friendly: No previous snowshoeing experience needed, but moderate physical condition is needed.
