Plitvice Lakes National Park
Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979, Plitvice Lakes is one of the most stunning natural wonders in Europe. The park features 16 crystal-clear lakes connected by over 90 cascading waterfalls, all spread across different altitudes in a unique karst landscape.

This lush forested area covers 300 km² and is home to a rich diversity of flora and fauna — including 75 endemic plants, 55 species of orchids, over 160 bird species, and occasional sightings of bears, wolves, deer, wild boars, and foxes. The lakes are especially famous for their rapid travertine formation, a rare and ongoing natural process.

Rastoke – A Village of Water and Tradition
Located near the town of Slunj, Rastoke is a charming 17th-century watermill village where the Slunjčica and Korana rivers meet, creating a network of waterfalls, rapids, and small lakes. Known as "Little Plitvice," Rastoke offers a peaceful atmosphere and a glimpse into traditional rural life.

With its unique blend of natural beauty and preserved architecture, Rastoke has been declared a cultural monument. For centuries, locals lived here in harmony with nature — and once you visit, you’ll see why they never wanted to leave.
