Andechs is a favorite of locals for good reason. With views of the Alps, a fine Baroque church and a bustling beer hall serving up some of the finest Bavarian dishes anywhere, it's easy to see why. The monk's home-brewed beer is world renowned and there's no better place to drink it than onsite. Hike back via beautiful Lake Ammersee and stop at the scenic lakeside Biergarten for one last beer.

Join Beer Hiking Bavaria author as he takes you along the Way of St. James en route to the hilltop Andechs monastery. Note that this is a private tour and can be tailored to your group's needs.

Guided hike on the St. James Way to Andechs monastery, hike back via the beautiful Ammersee Lake.
Transportation to and from hike via public transportation.
This is a private tour. It's just your group however many people you sign up.
We will be stopping a number of small rural brewpubs and all food and beverages are at your own expense.
Food at brewpubs is also at your own expense.

Meeting and pickup

Meeting point

In Munich, the meeting point is inside the Main Train station (HBF) in front of the McDonald's on the lower level of the station at 8:50. If arriving by U-Bahn or S-Bahn, go up one level. If arriving on street level, go down one level. Please be prompt as we’ll need to catch an S-Bahn.
