Explore one of the worlds leading wine production regions, with majestic landscapes and vineyards stretching for miles. Your local guide will provide insight into the history of the region, and highlight some of the places of interest.  A wine tasting will be suggested by the guide on one of leading wine farms. This region includes several towns such as Stellenbosch founded by the first governor of the Cape in 1679, Paarl which was settled by Europeans in 1687, as well as Franschoek (French Corner in Dutch) which was settled by French Hugeunots (Protestant reformers), that left France under persecution.  Their French farm names still remain to this day.  An opportunity to lunch in one of these towns will be provided.  Leisurely walk with your guide through the streets of one of these towns, taking an opportunity to enjoy lunch from one of the many world class restaurants available.

What to expect

9.00 - 9.30 am 
• Make your way to Paarl while your guide provides a background to the Cape Winelands region

09.45 -10.30 am
• Visit the Taal Monument, learn of the "Kaapse" language that is modern day Afrikaans

10.45 - 11.45 pm
• Visit one of the leading wine producers KWV's cellar for a tour and wine tasting 

12.00 - 13.00 pm 
• Opportunity for lunch at one of the local wine farms

13.30 -14.30 pm 
• Visit the Franschoek Region, and learn about the French Huguenot's contribution to wine making, and their involvement in the  development of modern day South Africa

15:00 - 16.00 pm
• Finish the days touring to a visit at the Stellenbosch Museum, a period time capsule showcasing early settlers houses and later colonial influence
