During the Easter weeks, parts of the fountains in the old town are filled with roses. These are donated every year by an anonymous donor. Our tour moves along these fountains through the historic Old Town and past Zurich's most important churches.

    Grossmunster

    Zurich's main church and place of activity of the reformer Huldrych Zwingli. Founded by Charlemagne in 850, it is the burial place of the city's saints Felix & Regula.

    Water Church

    the church originally stood on an island in the Limmat. Former library and place where Lenin worked as an employee. Alleged execution site of the city saints Felix & Regula

    Fraumunster Church

    Former convent of Abbess Katharina von Zimmern. Founding legend of two sisters who walked to the chapel every day from out of town and were accompanied by a stag with a shining cross in its antlers. Church windows by Marc Chagall and Chiacometti

    St. Peter's Church

    Bell tower owned by the town, nave owned by the church. Tower functioned as a fire warning system. Largest clock face in Europe
