Start your adventure by leaving Marrakech after breakfast and driving to Imlil via Asni.
As you arrive in Imlil, a bustling market town and the main trailhead for trekkers, you'll witness the vibrant activity of people preparing for their mountain journeys.
Meet your mule team and load up your gear before embarking on a scenic walk along the valley towards Tacheddirt, located approximately 8 kilometers from Imlil. The trail gradually ascends towards the Tizi n'Tamatert pass (2,279m) and descends to the picturesque village of Ouaneskra. Afterward, continue for another half-hour to Tacheddirt (2,300m), where you'll set up camp near the river.
Traverse the valley and embark on a challenging ascent to the Tizi Likemt pass (3,555m). The path can be demanding due to loose scree, but the effort is rewarded with a magnificent view of the Toubkal massif.
Descend from the pass, following a long downhill stretch that leads to the village of Azib Likemt, where you'll camp for the night.
This relatively easy yet lengthy day showcases diverse landscapes. From Tizi n'Ououraine (3,120m), enjoy breathtaking views of the Toubkal massif, including the summit, the east face, and the Ifni Dome (3,876m).
Continue towards Amsouzert, a striking village known for its charm. Spend the night in a simple village Gite.
Explore the small villages west of Amsouzert as you make your way towards Ifni Lake, the only lake in the massif. This stunning lake, surrounded by rocky mountains and immense rubble formations, creates a memorable sight.
Arriving around lunchtime, you'll have the afternoon to relax and unwind by the lake's shore. Set up camp in the area for the night.
This day marks the most challenging part of the trek. Ascend along a steep path that leads up an extensive scree slope. Eventually, you'll reach the Tizi n'Ouanoums pass (3,664m), a narrow passage between towering rock formations.
Descend through a series of zigzags until you reach Nelter Hut, a mountain refuge where you'll spend the night (or camp outside as an alternative).
Start your day before dawn as you follow a well-established route to the summit of Mount Toubkal. If weather conditions permit, it should take approximately 2-3 hours to reach the summit, granting you panoramic views of the entire Atlas range and the plains of Marrakech.
Descend to the villages of Sidi Chamharouch and Aremd before following the forested trail along the Mizane River, leading back to the trailhead at Imlil.
If you are staying in Marrakech, transportation will be provided by car at the end of the day.
