Do you want to visit the wild desert of Morocco, but don’t have much time? This two-day itinerary facilitates the journey from Zagora to the dunes of the desert of Erg Chegaga (or Chigaga) which is one of the two great ergs of the Sahara in Morocco.

You will admire the largest sand dunes in Morocco and discover the southern kasbah, Oasis du Draa and nomadic music.

We will make you discover the desert and the traditions of southern Morocco through contact with its inhabitants. You will have the pleasure of sleeping in a tent in a bivouac, and seeing stars.

You will be accompanied by very warm and experienced men from this region.

We will pick you up from your Hotel in Zagora (the address of your Hotel and to communicate to us when you book. The day of departure at 9:30 am.

    Zagora - Tamgroute -M'hamid - Chegaga

    After your breakfast, departure in 4X4 for the visit of the Koranic library of Tamegroute which is a town in Morocco, located about twenty kilometers from Zagora, on the old road to Timbuktu.

    Then we will continue the road to Mhamid where we will have lunch. After lunch, departure to the Sacred Oasis and the sea of sand. (Chégaga) Highest dune in Morocco (300m alt. More than 40km in length), we witness the sunset, dinner, folkloric animation of the Sahara. And night in a nomad tent in our bivouac.

    Chegaga - Erg lihoudi - Zagora

    Enjoy a typical Berber breakfast very early in the morning. Then admire the sunrise during a camel ride through the dunes before heading back to Zagora.

    Zagora

    After breakfast in Chégaga, the return is scheduled around 11:30 am in Zagora. A good hot shower awaits you in our Guest House.
