The aim of this tour is for you to enjoy the Teotihuacan pyramids while also supporting the local economy and enjoying an authentic, homemade lunch cooked by locals at their home. The tour is designed for your money to stay in the community.
We'll go on public transport to the North Bus station in Mexico City. We'll take a public bus to Teotihuacan and once there, you will be introduced to your local guide who will explain the history of the pyramids.
You'll be taken to an obsidian workshop run by a local family. You will get to try their homemade pulque among other local delicacies such as marmalade and homemade salsa.
After having sipped mezcal, tequila & pulque, we will visit another family-run business: A xoconostle candy and snack project. You will have a family member explain the whole process.
Finally, we will go to a local's house and have a vegan/veggie homemade lunch that consists of agua fresca and traditional Mexican dishes such as tlacoyos, arroz & much more.
We will meet outside the Hilton Reforma Mexico City hotel, under the sign that says Hilton. The hotel is on Juarez Avenue, Downtown CDMX.
We will finish at Glorieta de Insurgentes, which is a central and convenient spot.
At the Pyramids, you will be introduced to your local guide and have an in-depth tour of the Archeological Site
You'll be taken to an obsidian workshop run by a local family that has been in the business for generations. You will also visit a Xoconostle (prickly pear) project where candy and other products are made. Finally, you will be treated to a home-made lunch at a local family's house
