In the morning at 07:00, your driver in Chengdu will meet you in hotel lobby and transfer to Chengdu Dong Station for the train D1918 (09:00-12:25) or similar to Xian. Please get off the train at Xian North Train Station. You local guide in Xian will greet you at Passenger Service Center by holding the welcome board with your name.
Your Xian tour begins with Big Wild Goose Pagoda, which is a sacred place for worshiping Buddha. The pagoda was originally built to preserve sutras and figures of Buddha that Xuanzang brought back to China from India in the Tang Dynasty. Now there is a big Garden around Big Wild Goose Pagoda where people can have a nice walk.
Then you will be driven to visit Xian Ancient City Wall. It is the most completely preserved and largest city wall in China. It was built for military defense in the Ming Dynasty, about 650 years ago. You can optionally ride a bike on the city wall and the rental fee is on your own side.
Walk through the puzzling underpass and get to the Drum Tower Square in 5 minutes. The guide will introduce you some basic facts of this old city and its must-see attractions on the way and you will soon reach the grand Drum Tower which has stood there for more than 600 years. Behind it is the Muslim Quarter. How busy and bustling it is! Most people think of this word when seeing it. Yes, it’s always crowded from early morning to night. It has such a magic charm. You will be dazzled by various stalls and amused at vendors’ interesting hawking. Follow your guide to find your way in the crowds and learn the hidden stories about those unknown snacks.
In the morning, our guide and driver will take you to visit Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum. It takes around 1.5 hours' car ride. The Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum is known as “the Eighth Wonder of the World”, the museum shows a surprisingly high level in sculpture. It is located 30 km east of Xi’an City and the original site was discovered by four local farmers while drilling a well in 1974. Now it has turned into one of the most important attractions in China and the top site in Xi’an. The museum includes Pit 1 (the largest), Pit 2, Pit 3, and the exhibition hall of the chariots and horses.
After lunch you will be escorted back to train station for the train D1941(15:20-19:27) or similar train back to Chengdu. Please get off the train at Chengdu Dong Station. Your driver in Chengdu will meet you at exit and transfer you back to hotel.
