In the morning our guide and driver will greet you in your hotel lobby and escort you to Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Research Base, which is well known for the protection and breeding of the endangered giant pandas which are unique to China. The base is definitely a highlight for most visitors to Chengdu. There are adorable pandas everywhere. You can watch them eating bamboo, playing with each other, and of course sleeping. Your tour guide will navigate you through the huge area, share some information about the pandas, and help you take amazing photos.
Jinli Old Street used to be one of the oldest and busiest commercial streets of Shu Kingdom. In that street tourists will see some typical elements of Chengdu lifestyle. E.g. Tea houses, taverns, bars, local snacks, handcrafts, local specialties, etc.
Wuhou Temple is the memorial temple of Zhuge Liang, the outstanding strategist of Shu Kingdom in the Three Kingdom Period (220-280).
After the tour finished, you will be escorted to Chengdu East Train Station for G2212 (17:21-21:10) or similar train to Xian. Upon arrival, met by Xian driver at Xi'an North Train Station and transfer to your hotel in Xian city area.
Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum known as “the Eighth Wonder of the World”, the museum shows a surprisingly high level in sculpture. It is located 30 km east of Xi’an City and the original site was discovered by four local farmers while drilling a well in 1974. Now it has turned into one of the most important attractions in China and the top site in Xi’an. The museum includes Pit 1 (the largest), Pit 2, Pit 3, and the exhibition hall of the chariots and horses.
After lunch break, visit another landmark of Xi'an - the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. At around 65 meters tall, the pagoda was built in 652 (in the Tang Dynasty) to store Buddhist scriptures brought back by Xuanzang from India. Have a relaxing time there.
After that, head to Grand Tang Dynasty Ever-bright City, which is next to the Great Wild Goose Pagoda. It is like a time travel when you walk among many Tang Dynasty-style architectures.
Today we will head to the Small Wild Goose Pagoda, a historic Buddhist structure dating back to the Tang Dynasty (618-907). Visitors will marvel at its elegant architecture and intricate carvings, reflecting ancient Chinese craftsmanship.
Xi’an Museum, located near the Small Wild Goose Pagoda, is a peaceful city museum showcasing Xi'an's history through a vast collection of relics . It uniquely combines a modern exhibition hall with the serene ancient pagoda and temple grounds, offering a quiet escape to explore the capital's glorious past.
Next, visit the Ancient City Wall (also known as the Fortification of Xian). The city wall is a kind of defensive structure in Ancient Times and represents one of the oldest, largest, and best-preserved Chinese city walls. Spend some time leisurely walking on the wall and enjoy its inner and outer walls, watchtowers, and moat, and have panoramic views of modern Xian.
Afterwards, come back to the Xian downtown to explore Bell and Drum Tower Square which stands at the center of Xian city for hundreds of years, famed as a landmark of this old capital city. Then head to the Muslim Quarter, filled with the enticing aromas and flavors of authentic local snacks including biangbiang noodles, ice peak (a kind of drink), soup dumplings, mirror cake, sour plum soup, dried persimmon, and lamb skewer. Let the vibrant atmosphere and culinary delights captivate your senses.
