Please book your hotels within Wulingyuan area; hotel at Zhangjiajie city near to Tianmenshan area is okay, but please expect there is extra cost for transfer.
In the morning, you will be picked up at the hotels with in downtown area in Zhangjiajie city. Today’s first stop is Tianzi Mountain. You can’t beat the views at this 21 square miles of the mountain landscape. It continuously wow visitors with tower-like peaks rising up abruptly from the tree-covered ground. If you are lucky, you will encounter the wonder of clouds sea after the rain is clear.
Then get to Yuanjiajie Scenic Area. This is the most popular spot in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, and also the inspiration of the Hallelujah Mountain in the super famous movie Avatar. Bailong Elevator, the highest and heaviest elevator in the world, will take you up to Yuanjiajie in only 1 minute and 58 seconds. As you get off the elevator, a huge piece of “landscape painting” by nature will be unfolded in front of you. The massive quartz-sandstone pillars are just towering next to you .
Golden Whip Stream winds like a jade ribbon through Zhangjiajie's towering sandstone pillars. Walking its shaded path, you're surrounded by crystal-clear water, lush greenery, and playful monkeys—a true immersion in a natural masterpiece.
After breakfast, drive 40 minutes to the Grand Canyon where the dense trees, plunging waterfalls, and mist on the stream, cliffs, and caves create a landscape like no other. The Glass Bridge, the biggest highlight here, is suspended between two cliffs of the canyon. Walking along the bridge is a terrifying experience but worthwhile for the panoramic view of the entire Grand Canyon.
Then head to Tianmen Mountain. The world’s longest cable car will take you to the top of the mountain. On arrival at the mountain top, you will visit the Tianmen Temple dating from Ming Dynasty. Then get a chance to take a walk on the glass skywalk built by transparent glass against the cliffs. Follow your guide to the Tianmen Cave (Heaven's door cave). It is actually a natural stone archway that is 131.5 meters high and 57 meters wide and will take about 0.5 hours to walk through. Later, along the 99-bend Road (a mountain road with wonderful scenery on either side), a shuttle bus will take you down to the mountain foot.
After the tour, we can drop you off at Zhangjiajie airport or train station (Please book the flight/train departure after 19:00pm); or you can optionally visit the 72 Tower in the evening if you don't leave by flight/train today and have interest, the entrance tickets would be paid by yourself on site.
